i had a putco tailgate bar but it wouldn't work on my truck it pinched when i lowered the tailgate but I'm hoping i can mount it up out of the way with something like your setup

From what I've seen, the Putco bar is very thin like my LEDs. So if you were to use a full length 1"x1" aluminum extrusion (painted black) and mounted it like mine, it should work. You can see in my photos that the LEDs clear the tailgate lip (swings under) and I thought they were touching but they're not. I accidentally dropped my tailgate and still it didn't make contact

Update...red rear markers installed same as front grill LED...

Sharp eye might notice "TOP" on lamp is upside down lol...doesn't really matter as it's symmetrical...

LEDs mounted to 1" x 1" aluminum extrusion then attached to top of plastic trim...the tailgate swing clears the lights

The LEDs are wired in parallel and cabled behind the mounting plate, run behind bumper and tied into license lamp...they don't serve as brake/turn but are always on with the markers for added rear visibility/safety

Awesome build! Raptor grill ordered for my truck and glad I read your post first as the the light kit that is available from others is $99. Curious if you noticed a significant change in mpg with the lift and tires?
