After it sat in my cart for three days, I pulled the trigger and bought from TireRack last night. Almost $200 cheaper than the dealership I use (and really like, by the way), Fred Beans in Washington, NJ. Assuming there's instructions on what to do before head to the dealership for install?
Short version, intended purpose. Bronco is more for traditional off-roading/rock crawling whereas the RR is for more of the graded road, baja-mimicking shenanigans. Watts link keeps the rear centered better when sliding around a corner for example.
I have never had any steering components apart, what kind of a job is it to install those Foutz sleeves? Look a lot more compact than the broncbuster thing, the "busterbrace."
Never had any issues with the KO3s, heavy rain, snow etc. Right through the 18"+ unplowed snow a few weeks ago. I did just recently air them down to 35 rather than the Ford recommended 39 and it does feel a bit more "soft" in regular driving.
Anyway, as for wet conditions, drive it like it's...
Pretty exciting stuff today; replaced the air filter and the cabin filter. Truck has a little over 25,000 miles. Air filter wasn't too bad but the cabin filter was noticeably dirty. Never thought much about cabin filters before but this one is so easy to access (don't tell Ford or when they...
Wanted to add this pic from Feb. 23rd to memorialize when the truck just bombed right through 18-20"+ of unplowed snow to get from the main roadways, through the neighborhood and into the driveway near my folks' place.
Only time I ever had a wet cabin filter was when I had taken a previous pickup through a car wash and had the undercarriage wash done. Evidently if the HVAC wasn't set on "recirc," the water was able to get up into the cabin filter housing. It was during the summer and only noticed after...
@DongCorleone mind my asking if the cabin air filter access is as easy as some other models? Removing the lower glove box and a little door over the filter/housing?
Maybe the colors and such aren't quite "right" as they look like they're based on the Australian/international market version (with the bed rack thing behind the cab).
