We tow a 20ft 3800lbs (loaded) travel trailer with our Ranger. Personally, I wouldn’t go any bigger than that. Wind gusts and tractor trailers remind you that she’s back there. Definitely go with a bigger truck if that’s the size camper you’re gonna tow.
I believe it doesn’t fit right because it’s a cheap universal fit design. That’s how they keep the cost low. One design fits all 5 ft beds. The Ranger bed has so many openings there’s no chance of keeping it dry anyways.
We use the Echo all the time when towing our 20ft Gulfstream. It works very well. I also got the additional brake putting so the app doesn’t have to be open all the time.
We tow our 20ft Gulfstream all over the country behind our XL. It weighs 3,000lbs dry, so I would imagine about 3800 loaded. I upgraded the trailer tires to LRE, and plan on adding a set of LT's to the truck to help with stability. She pulls the camper no prob (12.5mpg) but away is an issue. I...
The bulletin says Feb 24-June 25. It's directly related to the electric brake booster, so I would assume this would only affect XLT & Lariat models, as the XL has a vaccum brake booster
Just to give you a follow up. The dealer completely rebuilt the transmission. Found a small amount of steel and a torn seal. Replaced torque converter as well.
Made the trip, 1200 miles each way. Shudder is still there, now even when trans is cold, and only with the trailer attached. I tried a...
Any change to geometry (ride hight) can cause vibrations. Especially at 2.5 inches. The only correct way to level these trucks is to put a kit on that will essentially drop the front axle to realign the shafts. You have proved this by re balancing tires to no avail. It’s absolutely a rotating...
I know our service manager very well. He asked if I wanted the Mastertech to rebuild it on the shop, or to order a reman unit. Given the choice, I’m not putting a reman in a brand new truck.
