The clunk and slight roll backward on start up has happened to me. Not often. However aside from that the transmission has been working correctly.

UPDATE: Picked up the truck last night. Brand New Transmission installed. Looks like I got a tech who knew what he was doing and was very neat. Truck drives well , seems to shift a little smoother and is much quieter. Also notes say Adaptive Learning turned off. I've been reading alot about this. Is this common for dealer techs to do? I thought it was mostly done through FORESCAN by owners. Fingers crossed that this is a one time thing and the truck ends up being a reliable vehicle for many years to come. I attached a photo of the work order.

UPDATE #2 Upon further review of the part number for the Trans. They actually put a rebuilt transmission in the truck. I am beyond pissed at this point . Not sure what to do but I can't accept the fact that they put a rebuilt in my truck with 1600 miles

Call and talk to the service manager. The only way to not get a reman, is to have the dealer rebuild your unit.

The truck only has 1600 miles on it. When they called me telling me it needed a transmission I stated that I did not want a rebuilt. They confirmed that because the truck has such low mileage it would absolutely get a Brand New Transmission.

Just curious if under the warranty agreement it says they can replace a unit with a rebuilt with that mileage on you vehicle or any miles under there agreement.

It does say 'remanufactured' part may be used, but it's worth fighting them on such a new vehicle.

That's a great question. But

Thanks for this. I will still move forward with pushing Ford because of the low mileage. Probably won't get anywhere with it but we shall see. Might just end up dumping it (and losing money). Maybe this rebuild is a low mileage unit or maybe it had 100K before rebuild. Who knows.

UPDATE #3 I spoke to the service writer and she spoke to the parts department. He verified that the transmission is brand new. My part number was MB3Z-7000-G and Remanufactured trans would be MB3Z-7000-GRM so all good. I got misleading info this morning on my google search LOL. Still crossing my fingers that this is going to be a solid truck down the road.

That's great news, and peace of mind.

I doubt that there would be many used/rebuilds out there with high milage, as the 10R60 has only been out a few years. I think starting with Bronco in 2021. Previous Rangers had the 10R80, and going by that forum, that trans are utter pieces of shit, even though they are in millions of F150, Explorers and Rangers.

I’ve been ignoring a whine in my 2025 2.7 since it got in may. No matter how long I let it warm up my first 5 min of driving there is an audible whine 1-3 gears. Once it’s warm it goes away. I figured it was normal but now I’d like to know if anyone else has a different experience.

I hear that whine sometimes as well, also in low gears, but it's barely perceptible. Doesn't seem to affect operation.

I have this whine, more like a low hooooooooonk. Always lower gears. From shift command to shift complete, I can hear it pretty well. Also always cold. I've noticed I can hear it to a lesser extent on downshifts as well. Trans seems to be OK, but I've noticed some odd shifting behavior. Setting a dealer apt.
