First road trip with the new truck. 21.1 mpg isn't great but not too bad considering the engine only has 700 miles on it and winter blend gas. I did stop for fuel about half way and hand calculated mileage was 22.8 but that may be a fluke. My old F150 2.7 usually got 22-24 mpg the same round trip.

20 mpg in town in ECO with a topper installed and several hundred pounds of window samples in the back. Have over 24 mpg on highway with minimal load. Love the 2.7L, its zippy.

That's about what I get with my 2.7 FX4, now at 1330 miles. Actually, 22.1 mpg average since new.
It seems to slowly be creeping up, as the first tank average was only around 17 mpg.
It's 27 miles one way to work, half of it is highway speeds of 60-75, the other half is town driving with
stops and go.

I have close to 700 miles on my 2.7 and my best so far is 19.6. That includes Highway and city driving. I know that is not great but compared to my 2004 Sport Trac's mileage, I am happy.

I have gotten around 24 MPG on a long range trip with my 2.7. I average 20ish on my commute but that's NYC. I am curious what I would get on that long trip with cruise control. I was still breaking the engine in at that point.

I'm getting 19mpg running sport mode most of the time and not a lot of long highway miles

On my 2nd tank of gas in a Lariat 2.7: 22.7 mph average city and highway (~65mph). My Bronco with the 2.3 averaged 23.0, but the 2.7 has much better drivebility due to its torque.

i was going to get a 2.7 ranger but i found an F150 with a deal too good to pass up. i got a STX crew cab 2wd with a locker for 12K off so I jumped on it. She has a little over a 1000 miles on her at the moment. with the 36gallon tank i can go over 700 miles per fill up if its highway driving.

that said, mileage is drastically better on the highway. if i go from city to highway i'll start seeing my miles to empty INCREASE.

also, break in is a factor. 4wd and all tires might cost you 2-3mpg but after 1000 miles or things should be nice and worn in.

i get low 20's or high teens in the city with high 20's highway if i keep my foot out of it so your numbers seem normal.

Are you guys using premium or regular gas?

I'm around 1k miles and average is around 15 mpg, driving in normal mode.

Regular, mostly sea level and flat terrain. Your mileage sounds more like the Raptor 3.0.

regular. this is my 2nd 2.7. if you put your foot in it those mpg's will go bye bye but if you baby it the engine will just sip gas. i love it.

Got just shy of 4K on mine and the mileage in the city is about 18-19 (I'm not known for a light foot!). However, my Lariat has the 18" stock tires and on several road trips I was runung 24-25+-. 18" do exceptionally well on the highway but suck big time in the city. Also, tread design has a lot to do with mileage. For good but simple article on the subject see

We also need to remember when you use the remote start this will reduce your gas mileage too. I live in Idaho so I use it a fair amount.
