Has anyone swapped out their down and charge pipes yet? Also, would a larger intercooler in addition to the pipes with the true dual H-pipe exhaust open this engine up for any real improvements to performance or fuel economy?

I've been asking aftermarket manufacturers for downpipe/exhausts in development, currently none from CVF, AWE, etc. CVFab said they had no plans, Although AWE said they would if there was enough interest, made a post a week ago asking for people to fill that 7 line form if they were interested. 1 responder. Idk if theres enough 2.7s on the road looking for upgrades at this point. Honestly about to get custom downpipes or order CVfabs bronco 2.7 and just cut and flip to get the outlet to the passenger side.
There are a few charge pipe options, CVFab, AFE, Mishimoto, im currently waiting for Injen to release thiers as they are confirmed in development.
As well for intercooler, Wagner, CVFab, Full Race, Mishimoto.

-The Intercooler will KEEP your power, make sure IATs stay down, and increase it more with custom tune
-Downpipes would allow more flow and increase growl, more with custom tune.
Both would offer negligible performance maybe 10hp within the stock tunes parameters, would open up 30+ plus more with custom tune as seen with bronco 2.7s
-charge pipes could possibly aid airflow especially with higher boost and preventing popoffs/leaks while adding engine flare, but would be negligible without a custom tune.

It really is just a sad state for anyone looking to mod a 2.7 Ranger right now. The Raptor gets all the love. I want to get the garret powermax turbos, but theres maybe 1 option for tuners for that upgrade currently. I may just buy a canned tune and wait out for better things to come at this point. Thee torque management on this engine makes it feel neutered and almost mitigates any modifications without a custom tune to address that.

Like previous comment said - without a custom tune, you won’t get ‘more’ power. Upgrading pipe size/materials plus a bigger intercooler will allow you to keep power for longer due to a reduction in heat soak as well as a much faster recovery when heat soaked
