2023 Ranger Raptor Coil Spring Rear Suspension Revealed

We just got a chance at a closeup look at the rear suspension design of the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor, revealing a coil-spring design to match the F-150 Raptor and its upcoming Bronco Warthog counterpart.

The brush-style camouflage made for a tricky workaround, but we managed to get an angle that fully reveals a coil spring, and the clear absence of leaf springs. Given that the new Ranger Raptor will be closely related to Ford’s Raptor-spec Bronco Warthog, the existence of Fox Live-Valve shocks under the midsize baja truck would seem to be a sure thing.

Aren’t the GeneralGrabber ATX’s coming on these trucks? I’m running them on my Pro4X I bought while I’m waiting for the Raptor to come to Canada after my F150 was decidedly too big for the mtn bike and surf spot trails we need to get to. I prefer the Grabbers to the KO2’s.

Oh Boy, another "leak"

I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar set up on the regular Ranger.
I know it's early, but so far I am liking what I see for styling and mechanicals.

Now, can you get us a "leak" on the interior. Really hoping Ford improves on the Ranger's interior quality and options........although I'm not holding my breath after seeing the reveal of the Bronco.

The Ranger Raptor and the WartHog will be pricey. If I was a betting man the standard Ranger will be affordable. Built to a cost. Knowing your Market. I think the Ranger will keep with the Leaf Spring. Ford will keep with the 2.3L and the 10spd Tranny. We will see if the Manual trickles over from the Bronco. I am happy I should be able to get the Super Cab, XL FX4, hopefully with the 40 mile range PHEV setup.

Looks to be the same rear axle as my 2020 Ranger Raptor (I'm in Australia), which is no real surprise. The next gen Ranger on the whole is basically a reskin with engine updates not a whole new vehicle.

The axle itself is curious to me- your Australasian market Rangers get a Banjo axle, while US models get a Dana Advantec 220 (D44 equivalent Salisbury axle. Unless someone decided that the US Raptor and Warthog would get Banjo axles, this isn't US spec truck.

Our normal Rangers have a different axle to the Raptor, which has basically an Everest axle made wider. This is a standard Ranger axle in Australia
