2025 Order update

Update: Regardless of 4 different Ford sources having conflicting status information, my dealer was able to locate the truck in a lot at the assembly plant (not in Iowa, whew!). Whether it went there and came back or never left, I have no idea.

According to the Ford chat representative, it was completed on 6/26, but as of 7/16 no delivery has been set.

I’m the meantime, I’m driving my daughter’s 2004 Forester X, that we affectionately call “The Baja Buggy” due to her tendency of driving in the grass.

So, I figured out how to get Information on my order.

go to Ford.com and then scroll all the way to the bottom and click on some tiny little link that says “Contact us”. From there you can go into a chat. The first thing you do is tell the AI chat bot that you want a real person. They’ll send you to a real person who will then either help you or give you a phone number to talk to a human being.

In my case, The person on the chat told me that scheduled delivery was 6/26/25. they Then transferred me to marketing and CSR then looked it up, only to tell me that my truck was delivered to a dealership 481 miles from my dealership in Iowa. He then gave me the number to that dealership.

More to come tomorrow, when that Ford dealer is open.

Hopefully the other dealership didn't sell it already.

Got a text yesterday with a build date of September 1st. By the time it arrives it will have been a year since ordering. On another note, I built a XLT a couple weeks back and saw it's also getting built, August 25.

The main thing I’ve learned from this experience is that I’ll never order from Ford again. It’s been 42 days since it went into production with no status update, other than the fiasco that Ford Customer Service put me through (results were “no status update”). I will definitely “find” my truck next time.

It took 9 months to get mine scheduled for production September 1st. Will be lucky if it arrives before November.

Mine spent a bit longer than that "in production" but did get built eventually. The lack of information and clear updates through the process creates way more frustration than there needs to be.

I ordered a 2025 2.7L Lariat FX4 (Velocity Blue) with the Black Appearance package, tow package, and a spray in bed liner.

Update: I tapped out on my order. Had the dealership find me something within “trade distance”. Should be able to pick it up tomorrow. Ironically, it’s build date was three weeks after the one I’m waiting on.

Ordered mine May 10th, got my VIN May 18th, hit the production line on July 11th and finished on July 18th. Shipped 19th and took delivery July 30th.
Desert Sand Lariat, black appearance, step bar, tow package and spray on bedliner. Replaced my 2020 Lariat. Loving this truck!
