i have been watching videos on pennzoil ultra platinum synthetic and valvoline restore and protect to completely different types of oil the valvoline should help with direct injection carbon deposit and the pennzoil is the cleanest and longest lasting and made with natural gas there has been a lot of talk on this subject any more opinions

The most important thing is to use an oil that meets Ford specifications. After that it's a matter of opinion and there are a lot of opinions out there. I believe full synthetic to be the best option. I decided to go with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for my new Ranger with a Motorcraft filter.

For my 1996 Ranger (still getting it done in its 30th year!) I have always used Mobil 1 with an occasional Kirkland (Costco) full synthetic in the mix. It always gets a Motorcraft FL1A filter.

I’m new to the Ranger world so this is a good subject and thanks for bringing it up cause I might pull the trigger on 2025-2026 FX4 soon. I came from taco world non turbo.

One thing is certain, there's lots of opinions when it comes to oil. Sharing mine:
I use Valvoline Restore and Protect in my Ranger and F150 and do 5k oil change intervals. I started using in the F150 (3.5L Ecoboost) at 112k and it now has 150k--never hand any problems with the engine and a recent oil sample came back good.

I also think there's lots of good oils on the market, including the Pennzoil.

Those two oils Valvoline restor and the penzoil Ultra full synthetic seem to be the go to these all across the board.

Awesome to know, I’m entering into the Ranger world so I could use all the advice.
I’m about to pull the trigger on 2025-2026
FX4 xLT 2.3L in about a month or so.
