When I was researching about purchasing the RR, I had seen mentions of it stretching on a couple of youtube videos, so I had an idea going in that this might happen. I'm surprised ford didnt opt for ActiveX instead of leather, or at least give it as an option. I would have preferred the ActiveX material if it was an available material. We have StarTex in our Subaru which is the equivalent. Its superior to leather in my experience and its easy to clean.

Yep. Same deal here....unacceptable IMO. I have 5k miles on the truck but the seats look like a 250lb person drove this thing for 100k miles.

Going in for an oil change next week and plan to bring it up with the SA....

I resemble that remark 😅
I'm 250 lbs, my seats still look/feel new❕

Jokes aside, variations observed likely due to supplier(s), their different facilities etc...
On many occasions, 'high use/touch' items do not appear as a quality an issue on source inspection or upon assy.
Witnessed this, years ago, many times when a Ford engineer in assy plants....parts, components arrive and go straight in unless there's obvious 'cosmetic' or mechanical defects. Wear and durability outcomes are many times borne by end-users; especially 1st model yr.

Are you sure the seat material is leather? It feels like synthetic to me. It feels more similar to StarTex or ActiveX, if I had to guess...never owned a Ford prior to this truck. (basis: owned a 2022 OB Touring XT w/ real leather, and had a loaner Wilderness with StarTex for a week)

From what I’ve found the US variant is leather and alcantara
The Thai version is a PU leather

if it was ActiveX I don’t think it would stretch like this.

I quickly fixed this by replacing the seating with better looking and quality katzkin seat covers.

Ive not regretted it one bit.

Looks great! Did you have katzkin customize this design? How much did it run if you don’t mind sharing? Want to do something similar matching oem look.

I'd agree that my truck's seat looked pretty worn in short order. The good news I'll add, I've had my truck for 15 months and put 30k miles on it and the seat isn't looking notably worse than it did in those first few 1000 miles.

I fixed the issues with my seat quick and easy. I used 1/16" thick plastic (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLVQ3K9H?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1) and cut it in strips about 4"x12" (approx) and just slid them in under the foam, between the wire and the foam on the seat bottom. I used 3 going front to back and then 1 going left to right (slid it in-between the cushion and the wire and then spun it horizontally) and pulled it back toward the back of the cushion and now the drivers seat no longer has any sag when you're not sitting in it (and I'm in a ranger raptor with over 18k miles at this point) and it feels firmer and more supportive when you're driving. It took all of 5 minutes to do once I figured out how I was going to approach it. A nice thing as well is you can use thicker plastic or more layers of it if you want it even firmer.

good job better than my towel fix...the only thing ford may do is replace the bottom with another one... kind of upsetting spending so much money and having to fix it your self. I will try that

Designed it on their website, but you can also take a picture to them and them replicate it.

$1300 installed.

Great idea! Did you have to remove the seat to install the plastic strips or were you able to fish it through from underneath?

3000 miles on these seats. They seem to be wearing okay. Not nearly the same quality as my Volvo but that’s to be expected. I think the seats would have to get much worse for me to seek a warranty replacement or Katzkin covers.
