2027 Ford Ranger - What are Your Thoughts?

You know, with everything going on, I just get this uneasy feeling that the US Ranger really doesn't fit in Ford's US vision. I mean we do have the F 150 and the Maverick, which are not available in the ROW. And the ROW gets the Ranger hybrid, the Ranger Superduty, and the Ranger SUV, the Everest; but our Rangers have always been years behind the ROW. We did have a Ranger Tremor for a bit, then it just went away with no explanation. Then the Tremor was supposed to be back in 2024, then 2025, then in Jan 2026 it was announced by trade mags that we would "definitely see the Ranger Tremor later in the year." Only the 2026 model year is nearly over, and still no Tremor.

There's announcements on the 2027 F 150s with a new engine, a 2027 Superduty Tremor, a 2027 F series "Proud to Honor Package", then there's the 2027 Bronco RTR (a cut price Raptor), and an all new and improved mid-sized EV truck "about the size of the Ranger" called the Fathom. The Ford Fathom "is projected to have more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4", the Maverick has LESS passenger volume than the Rav 4. There's announcements about the new ROW Rangers for 2027, including new Superduty variants. But there's actually nothing out there for news, other that AI generated "guesses" nearly all which are totally wrong at best. Sorry AI's the 2022 and 2023 are NOT 6th Gen Rangers. Actual factual Ranger news though, crickets. Even AI, when pressed, explicitly states "Ford has not released any official information for the 2027 Ranger at all, and that items like lineup/price estimates and options are not official and may be based on the prior year until official Ford details are available."

Ford Mexico already has 2027 Ranger models on their website. In the US and Canada the Ranger is definitely the red headed stepchild of Ford's fleet. Considering we're half way through August already we should know something soon. I'm still hoping for a Tremor package next year.

That's true, but Mexico is definitely a part of ROW Ford, so we can't count them. How long have they had the Lobo? I don't care about the Tremor that much, there's always a Raptor sitting around; I'm hoping for a 5.0 Coyote Ranger Lobo myself. After all, the Aussies have already proved it fits.

Yeah, I looked at a 2026 Ranger Lariat while I was getting an oil change. Some of the best Lariat features like leather seating and the advanced LED headlights were just outright deleted and no longer available. Other features like wireless charging and power pro are now optional. So an "identical" 2026 Lariat, minus all of the de-contented features that made a Lariat a Lariat, now cost $3000 more than last year.

I would bet that something's going to happen with the Ranger line in 27. I'm in Michigan and the dealership where I bought my Ranger last October has none on the lot right now. I searched local dealerships and there are very few rangers to be had. However, lots are full of f-150s, broncos and Mavericks.

There's still a lot of 2025 Rangers available at dealerships within 300 miles, mostly XLs though. Locally, there are 92 2026 Rangers available, including RRs with very little, to absolutely no ADM. Broncos, on the other hand, local dealerships near me have 422 new Broncos, including 2025s for sale. It really seems like Ford has never really pushed the Ranger, now for 2026 they are actually de-contenting the XLT and Lariats.

Ranger - 2.7L EB

Is a maybe, if Ford is completely doing away with the 2.7L as is being suggested; however that is currently unknown as Ford itself not officially stated whether the 2.7L will continue in production, or not.
