I just did a 2100 mile trip from Oregon to Ohio in my 2024 Lariat v6 FX4.

Mountains, plains, traffic, open hwy. ALL the mixes. One adult and luggage, nothing significant for weight.

I got 19.5 MPG (per the trip computer) on 87 Octane running 80-82 most of the way. I think the bs mileage is due to 12+ hours of HIGH winds. On the first part of the trip mileage was over 20 and going up. As soon as I hit central Wyoming and winds picked up, mileage dropped. Had high wind advisories all the way through Indiana.

Had I slowed down and had normal winds, I think mileage would have been a LOT better.

Break in time as well. My mileage went up by 2 mpg after my first oil change at 2000 mi. (21.3) Same motor.

This wasnt a "new" truck. Had about 5000 miles on it at the start of the trip.

2.3 engine --- Several 140 mile round trips to Eugene, Oregon and back (65-70mph) and I have yet to get over 21 mpg (hand calculated) ......... kind of disappointed ...... what happened to the 26 MPG TFL reported on their mileage challenge video ??

You only get 21mpg with the 2.3 doing 65-70? If speeds were that low here i would probably get high 20s but i set cruise at 81 to not get run over

At 70-75 i have gotten 25mpg driving from corpus to san antonio and also leakey to san antonio and back, both are 3 hour trips.

Picking pwople up from the airport so loaded down on the return route

Yeah, our speed limits are posted higher and some spots are up to 80 or 85, which doesnt help. (Though now it doesnt take 4 hours to get to the next town like it did in the 90s)
