I have been considering the fabulous fab intake setup to pair with the pro-cal tune. I mostly want the intake for the enhanced turbo sounds, but I wonder if there are additional gains with pairing a good intake with the pro-cal tune? Will the "learning" of the tune consider the additional airflow and make slightly more power, or is there not enough of a bottleneck from the stock intake to show any gains? Just curious! Thanks!

From what I've read an air intake and exhaust can be accounted for with the procal tune and result in gains. Any other mods like downtubes etc. will require a more advanced tuner to recognize. I have the procal and will be install a CIA soon.

my understanding is that the intake is a bit restrictive stock but the tune is programmed for it. I am also looking at the intake from indicarbon and plan to install it within the next two weeks (once it arrives) and i expect possibly a touch more power but i'm in it more for the sound and just ability for the truck to pull more air as required.

No this is incorrect. You can add downpipes anytime without exceeding the parameters of the ECU. The ECU will adjust sufficiently for the additions. These include downpipes, FMIC, ETC. When the install of larger turbochargers FI’s will need to be increased for the additional fueling requirements..🇺🇸

Looking to install a CAI (undecided on brand, Fabulous Fabrications or afe most likely) as well as fenfab downpipes when I do my FP tune. Has anyone done the same? Any difference felt over just the FP tune.

My truck is at the dealer now for the tune.

I want to put the AFE or SB intake on the truck. I just want to hear some spool sounds

My mechanic (shop that did the tune as they are ASE and only charged $50) talked to SB last week and they still aren't available. That is what I am waiting for.

I just installed my Indicarbon CAI, and I love the sound! Definitely feel like throttle response has improved, but that’s probably a combination of the FP tune, Wagner FMIC, GFB DV+, and the CAI.

i do love that indicarbon intake. the fact that the output is seperated works great with the flexible pipes but if you go to solid pipes will they fit with the front and back placement of the outputs of the filter box?

I was also thinking about that during the install. Even with the flexible pipes, I had to manhandle the first one due to the modification I made for my OCC. I have the dual OCC, so when I tried to slide the pipe over the first output, the piece of metal got in the way of making a secure fit initially. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with solid pipes, but I won’t know for sure until I make that upgrade.

Can you hear the spooling up of the turbos now? or just more induction noise in general?
