I'm considering getting Vossen HF6-4 wheels for my Carbonized 2025 RR. Im conflicted between the gunmetal and anthracite. I reached out to Vossen and was told the anthracite is not available in 17 or 18s. Size starts at 20 inch. I drive 100% on the street, no offroad.

I'm wondering if changing wheel and tire size (assuming 285/55/20) will negatively affect driveability, or speedometer settings, safety features, etc?

‘Looks like they fit pretty well.
‘Just watch the offsets carefully when picking wheel and tire combos.

To get into those sort of details we would really need tire size and spec , wheel size and spec that your planing on or interested in.

Tire size and weight plays a big factor in those questions. 285/55R20 looks to be a bit shorter then the stock BFG tires. 275/60R20 would get closer to the oe 33”. I imagine there is plenty of 275s that measure just as wide as the BFG 285s, which the BFG runs a bit narrow at tread width.

Wheel width and offset are also critical info to help answer those questions.

One issue with different tire size is with the circumference. If the difference is big it could affect the transmission shift point.

Staying with 17” rims will give you a much wider choice of tires and a better ride.
Exactly, that’s the main reason I have never been a fan of 20” or 22+” rims for any of my trucks.
18” Rims are pretty much the max I ever run on truck. Just got to have some sidewall to help the soften the ride and protect the rims.

I bought some 18‘s once for a 2-door Jeep Rubicon JK that I no longer own and regretted it almost instantly. They were hard to get rid of!

Why , was that a jeep thing?
18s seem very common now days on trucks.
‘Some trucks more in the full size world can have clearance issue with certain wheels in 17” clearing the brake calipers.

Yeah. Jeep thing. Sahara wranglers and Overland gladiators came with 18’s from the factory. The High altitude versions have 20’s. Most of those are used on-road whereas the Rubicons, Willys and such are more off road capable. Even the 392 wrangler comes on 17’s. I don’t think there are any problems with big brake kits available that still fit inside the 17” wheels.

After some additional research, I've come to the same conclusion. I'll stick with 17s. Im generally not a fan of dark wheels. I do like the Roush wheels but concerned about change in ride quality with the 25mm offset.

The rear should not change much if any, being a solid rear axle.
The front in theory should create a slightly softer ride, do to the added leverage on the suspension geometry created by pushing the wheels centerline 30mm further out.

I am running +30 on both of my RRs and both came with +55s as all Rangers do.
‘Honestly I can’t tell any difference in ride.

Only thing I have seen effect ride in a negative or a firmness way, was a slightly firmer ride was experienced with the 10 ply tires, still very minimal if pressures are set for weight of the truck.
The big one I see effect ride firmness is weight on the truck, in the bed.

‘My 24 model has a very heavy steel rack, and toolbox full of heavy tools and gear. Probably close to 500 lbs on her back all the time. That trucks rides stiffer then my 25 RR stock or now with the topper, the 25 is still lighter and still rides smoother.
