Installed my Rocky Road sliders today. Same 6 bolts as factory running boards, and 6 additional drilled holes and bolts for a 'heavy-duty' install that can theoretically take the weight of the truck. Fitup was flawless. Removed the OEM running boards and installed these in about an hour. Very easy. We'll see how it does off road.

Very nice look.
I'm not thrilled with the stock running boards on my XLT FX4, and want to replace them. I'm curious if these would fit since my Ranger is not a Raptor. Would you mind sharing the link? Thanks.

Tested mine thoroughly in Moab a couple weeks ago. Held up great, super solid.
I have the Super Sliders with the optional rock crusher package.
Had a set of these on my Grand Cherokee before I bought the RR and those held up great as well. The 2015 Grand Cherokee doesn’t have a frame, so that’s why I trusted they would be okay on my truck since there’s such a controversy over frame mounted vs. pinch weld mounted.

Luckily the rangers aren't actually pinch weld mounted. They are not frame, of course, but they aren't pinch weld either.

Mine are installed in the factory running board locations as well as being bolted through the pinch welds. The through bolting is the “heavy duty rock crusher package” listed in the Rocky Road options when ordering.

Damn 900 bucks for pieces of metal! I mean I understand what they are going to do and protect, but damn lol
That’s pricey to play.

Would one of you that have these installed take a picture of how the main tube is mounted to the vehicle. Not where (body) but how the bracket on the body is mounted to the slider itself. I'm deciding between these and the Goat Fab sliders.

On the Goat Fab sliders I don't like how the bracket is under the main tube. I feel like that could get hung up. Thanks to @pappacrunch for the pictures of the Goat Fab sliders.

I made a mistake earlier, these are the Rocky Road Kicker Sliders with full cover panel and rock crusher package. Not “super” sliders. They don’t stick out as far as the stock running boards, but so far it hasn’t been an issue.

Thank you for the pics. I can't believe both companies would mount like that, or is it just me?

I parked and slid on mine in Moab several times and it felt really solid.
I had a set of these on my Grand Cherokee and they worked great.
Only comment I have is I wish they were a little wider, closer to the width of the stock running boards.
Since I am not a fabricator, nor do I know how to weld, I went with what I have had experience with and what I thought was the best available at the time.

For 2025 XLT. I compared all the rock sliders that would fit the 6G Ranger. Not a lot to chooses Goat, RCI and Rocky Road. The rest of the companies either make them for up to 2023 or for RR.
Shrock no longer exists.

Yes, you could make Rock Sliders if you had a Fab shop and the various pieces of equipment needed to do the project. A lot of fitting and refitting, trial and error. If someone had a kit that you could weld yourself then that's doable.

I went with the Rocky Roads, these types of sliders start to get very expensive with the $400 to $500 shipping of a long 150lbs product. Most of them are shipped by Semi.

Plus I live in Canada and with the exchange rate its $500 more CND on my Visa.
Rocky Road has briefly on a $190 Shipping. They did not have a coupon code.
I needed some extra savings to make me purchase them. So saved an extra 10%.
Meaning i saved $300 to $400 USD over the other ones.

I wished to buy quality and willing to pay the extra money over light duty side steps.
My truck is getting ready to be built. Good Ford did not make you purchase the $700 side steps.
If you are taking the truck off road and those get hit, they may not even protect the truck or cause more damage.

Goat and Rocky road use Cab/ Pinch welded mounted sliders. There's lot's of discussion about frame vs cab / pinch weld mount. Welding can change the torsional strength of the frames metal, altering the original strength of the metallurgy.

Here's the mounting instructions. Each truck can be slightly dimensionally off. So you may have to work the metal to make it fit. The one issue I can see your home mechanic not having a 90 degree drill to drill the pinch weld strip.

As I said my truck is in line to be built. So a lead time of 8 to 10 weeks is ok with me.
