I put a Revolver X4TS on my XLT Ranger back in the spring. So far the cover works great, although for the price I think the fit and finish is less than desirable. One area is the end of the rails are rough cut with very sharp edges. When I installed the cover, I knew that I was going to cut my leg or hand wide open one day on it getting in and out of the bed and figured I'd come up with a solution.

Awhile back I made a custom 3D printed end cap to cover the edges and I got some good interest. Since then, I've made some upgrades to the initial design, and I figured I'd post here for anyone interested.

Thanks for making this! It's actually insane that RealTruck couldn't be bothered to include some cheap rubber covers to prevent physical harm on a $1,500 truck cover.

Thanks. I agree, when I saw how the edge was finished I was shocked considering the price I paid.

My X4TS is getting delivered any day. I might order some of these covers.

I just ordered a set! It's too easy to slice something open with this sharp edges.

Mine never sealed or fit right. Lack of attention to detail in the manufacture of it. Things were not even and didn’t line up right. I hated it so much after 3 months of owning it instead of trying to sell it I threw it off the cliff at the landfill. Bought a Lowmax carbon fiber trifold in its place. Thought I would miss the roll up feature, but it was by far the best investment I’ve made on my truck. Hope you have better luck. Those end caps would have been nice to have if I had kept it.

I reinstalled mine a couple times before it sealed well. You really need 2 people to install it. I also used an extra clamp in the middle to secure it.

Definitely wish the quality was better for the price.

I was considering making those, but wasn't sure how many people would need replacement ones. Are you looking for something that just replaces the factory insert?

I am also working on a gasket that would fill in the gap on the front side of the cover. I get some water coming in from the front corners now. The catch is you’d need to loosen up the rails to slide the gasket in place or have them at installation time. Is that a dealbreaker?

No, I know some people have machined aluminum pucks to fill the negative/void below where the stake pocket cap is when adding a rack. Probably doesn't even need to be aluminum, could just be 3D-printed.
