I saw a news article talking about how Utah completely redesigned all their plates (click here to see a gallery of the new designs). I'd be curious to know what plate designs everyone likes? It could be standard or specialty.
On my Ranger I use the Oregon disabled veteran plate because it allows me to pay a one time registration fee and I'm set for life. Kind of hard to beat! Esspecially with registration fees always climbing. It's a pretty plain plate design. It's basically the same as our regular plate except it has vertical text on the left and right side, with 4 digits in the middle. The vertical text makes it kind of unique because you don't see that often on US plates. Here's a pic of mine as an example, with the main numbers removed using my expert MS Paint skills
If it wasn't for the perks of the disabled vet plate, I'd probably have Oregon's Watch for Wildlife plate or the new Dungeness crab plate.
My favorite plate of all time has to be Idaho's baked potato plate. It's literally a license plate with a buttered baked potato. Every time I see one on the road, which isn't often unfortunately, I bust up laughing because it's such a hilarious design. My wife and I make jokes about going to DMV to get your potato plate and getting a checklist of what toppings you want on your baked potato plate.
I'd also give an honorable mention to New York's new 250th Anniversary of America plate. I haven't seen one in person but I really like the watercolor design of the USA on the plate. I think it's a simple, yet unique design.
