Best Tonneau for 2024 Ranger XLT

Morning, hey trying to decide whether to get the BAK MX4 or Revolver TS for Ranger. The MX4 seems like it may keep things drier, downside no t-slots and concerned the internal gutters will be in the way.

The Revolver, my concern is does it keep stuff dry, mostly concerned about when it's full of camping gear, suspect it's fine for road trip with luggage in the back. Read some comments about the lock mechanism being cheap.

Both had comments about the unlock wire being accessible to breaking. Leer's pinch system seems more secure. Initial cover I looked at.

I just installed a "Tutel Hard shell folding cover for $400. I'm shocked at the quality and ease of installation. 20 minutes tops. Doesn't leak at all.

Do not get the BAK Revolver X4s Tonneau Cover. I have not been happy with it and it does not keep things dry. The latch quality is terrible. For the price paid I expected a lot more.

I'm trying the (ordered) the Synetic MR retractable with the low crossbars. Fully expect it to leak at least a little, and that's ok/won't put anything back there 'sensitive' without being in a box. Just need something lockable, something (low cross bars) that allows me to put my bikes on and a narrow cargo basket.

I purchased the one from Ford motor company had the dealer install it, have been happy it comes with drain tubing which keeps most of the rain out it will get small amount near the tail gate. Very minimal..

I think we all antagonize about what cover to get. I finally went with the UnderCover Ultra Flex Tonneau Cover. What I like about this cover is the carpeted interior surface, the fact that when the cover is fully open it doesn't hit the cab, that I can close the tailgate with the top down - has a dual-action tailgate seal and that the way it clamps to the bed allowed me to install the Ford cargo management system - not many covers will allow you to have both a cover and the cargo management system. Weather resistance has been very good - but the Rangers bed will never be 100% dry - too many holes in the bed and the rear tailgate doesn't seal great.

You might take a look at the Leer HF350M as well (higher price than most, so depending on your budget). The quality is top notch and after several hours of internet research, this was my choice. due to several things they have that others don't (mostly). The release mechanism isn't just an exposed cable you pull, they included pinch levers... nice quality touch. The biggest plus, was they don't use the cheesy drain tubes that most others use to channel away water. Whatever engineering went into it, mine doesn't leak internally into the bed. Fit / function is excellent and glad I went this route.

I am sad to see this post. I was considering one as it is an hard cover and it does not completely block the rear window when rolled up - like all of the other hard folding covers do.

I'm in Canada and bought the Bison tri-fold cover, which looks almost exactly like the Ford one someone posted up above in those pictures. The build quality and latching etc. is very good and it seems very secure, which is what I wanted.

I do get some leaks. My impression is that mostly, whatever cover you get, the leaks are likely not coming "from the cover" being deficient in any way, but they're coming from all the usual suspects, ie. the stake holes in the bed and the big open gaps in the tailgate, in other words more of a Ford issue and less of a cover issue. The cover itself (well, mine) seals tight and the drain tubes work just fine, but we still get some water in through those stake holes and more significantly from the tailgate.

There are other threads on here about how to address those particular issues.

I have the MX4 and really like it. I have had BakFlip products for years and have been a fan since the beginning, and I feel their quality has gotten better over time (along with price, haha). I was struggling between the MX4 and the Revolver X4S, but decided on the tri-fold as I have had them before and had a comfort. No issues so far. Been through some rains and car washes and barely any water gets back there. Very happy. Would purchase again.

I’m sitting here and just started laughing! My truck is the green one in the pictures, I only put the cover on due to being 69 and don’t want to shovel out the bed. If it wasn’t snow I would go to the old school way and use a tarp if needed. But what would we all have to discuss- lol

When I search the Bison website, they do not list any hard Tri-fold covers for a 2025 Ranger…?

I had a MX4 on my SD for about 6 months. I never could get it to not leak and it got oven hot inside. I got rid of it and put a topper on it. On the Ranger I got a Leer clamshell. No leaks.

Good feedback, I have been looking at the Leer H650M, had looked at the 350 some (3 panel I believe)
