Ive never had a truck before so Im pretty psyched to get this because I think its bada$$. That being said, Its probably never going off road. Would it be better to swap out the K02/03 when I get it to something more street focused and still good in lots of wet weather and snow? Im used to sports cars and putting all-season tires on those right when I get them for the same reason.

If I should change them, what is the most recommended street type tire that could still go light off roading if I were to do so?

Since you're talking K03s, I assume you are getting a RR. Personally, I would not change the tires out for something more street focused because I personally prefer the more aggressive off-road go anywhere look of the Raptor. But ultimately it's your choice since it is your truck. Just my $.02.

This will be my first time owning a truck as well and I'm stoked as well!!! What all did you order on yours?

I've considered the same thing, but I get lots of snow and some of the roads in PA might as well be "off roading" anyway.

If you go through with it, make sure to post a followup. I'd be interested in how it handles and any improvement to highway mileage.

Yeah, I really like the aggressive look too and dont want to go to a tire that makes it look silly. Probably something thats still that all-terrain look with better water siping and such.

Since the truck pretty much already comes with everything, only option I picked was the spray in bedliner. Probably doing a bedmat and tonneau cover as well anyway though.

Yeah, that was the other reason for the consideration, gaining a few MPG in the process.

Think I would keep the factory's until they need replaced, then based on your post, I'd probably choose the Toyo Open Country A/T 2. An everyday old street tire just wouldn't look right on a Raptor IMO.....

Yeah, I was looking at the AT/III version. That being said, Id want to change out right in the beginning because I typically drive 5-6k miles a year, so waiting until the K03 need to be replaced would be like 10 years!

Maybe something like this:

I looked at something like this but couldnt find it on tirerack as an available option. Either its not available in OEM size or weight rating.

My plan is to see how the KO3 performs, but given that 90% of this trucks life will be spent commuting, frequently on wet pavement, I'm thinking I'll buy a second set of wheels and mount a decent all season. I'll bet it improves fuel economy by 5-10% and could reduce wet braking distances by like 30-50%. It will also reduce rotational mass by like 6-10LBS per corner, which should make the truck feel alot more responsive.

Going to an 18" wheel opens up alot better options for all seasons that maintain the stock tire OD. I'm thinking 265-70/18, something like the Continental Terrain Contact HT.

Good point, I hadnt thought about going up a size with a new set of aftermarket wheels. That might be the best option actually considering you can then try to lose rotational mass with lighter wheels and tires.

EDIT: Just checked tirerack again and theres no wheel options for it. Maybe Im doing this wrong. Theres gotta be a better way to see other size wheel options.

You might look at on-road AT or Truck All-Season classes. The ATs will still have a somewhat aggressive look but more tailored for on-road use. The all seasons are going to be more like large car/SUV tires and kind of out of place on a Raptor. Something like the COOPER DISCOVERER AT3 XLT be a good balance Tirerack.com.

General makes a Grabber HTS60 which I've personally had for the summer on my F-150. That tire is extremely mild for an off road-oriented truck when it comes to tread, but the ride and wet handling is superior to most all terrains imo. Just be warned, that it is indeed an all season that's beefed up for truck load range duty. These are super quiet and ride awesome for road trips while being is a lot more MPG friendly.

I'm actually going the opposite way with my Lariat than what you guys are talking. Removing my stock rims and tire and switching to 20" wheels with a set of Pirelli Scorpion All-Terrain plus tires. The rims I bought are flow formed so light weight to offset the larger diameter. Weight is the same as my stock 2022 Ranger wheels and tires.

That looks really good. What does the tread of those tires look like? What brand of wheel is it also?
