Hello Everyone!

Curious about the Boomba racing blowoff valve. Has anyone installed it? Who does not want more whoosh sound? Question is besides moving the blow-off to the atmosphere, does it affect anything negatively? I guess its more just for sound..I searched this forum and could not find other posts related to this specific part.

Here is a video of install and how it sounds. The URL skips to the part of install and sound:

What’s the actual point of a vent to atmosphere blow off valve anyways? If I’m correct, it does absolutely nothing except make the whoosh noise. Correct?

I have the Boomba spacer that is open and not adjustable. It’s really not very loud unless you’re at full boost and take your foot off the gas, so I don’t know why you’d need the adjustable one (and even this it’s still pretty quiet inside the cab). I do think it sounds cool. You don’t hear it all that much though since the truck is an automatic. Normal driving you seldomly hear it. It’s not like you’re letting off the gas to shift gears or anything. There are no downsides to it, it just makes the sounds that the truck already makes more audible. The different brands do have different tones to their sound though because of the different cutout sizes and shapes.

My absolute favorite thing it does is something I wasn’t even expecting. When you’re in sport mode and you come to a stop quickly and the truck downshifts, the last downshift the truck also releases boost and it does this fucking awesome continued pshhhhh that coincides with the engine sound that puts a smiles on my face.

Correct. That is the point. The way it is routed by default is setup to quiet the factory BOV and mute the turbos. This just lets you hear the noises the truck is already making that the factory setup muffles. Some people don’t want that others like it.
