Hey guys, thanks for your input here! This is my first time driving a truck, and first time driving a RWD vehicle, so appreciate the advice.

Brought home my 2026 XLT yesterday and love it. One thing I noticed though in my first 20 miles is that, when in stop and go traffic, when I accelerate from a stopped position, the vehicle kind of shudders / vibrates until I get up to speed. Not completely sure but I think it's only happening in first gear. Also kind of hard to tell where its coming from - kind of feels like its in the steering wheel, gas pedal, and entire vehicle. Goes away when up to speed - only happens when taking off.

At first I thought maybe it was me skipping the tires as I'm not used to the power/RWD, but now I'm not so sure. Doesn't matter if I floor it or baby it.

It's also brand new, so I wasn't sure if maybe the computers just need time to learn the shifting and driving habits. Or maybe this is just normal for this vehicle?

Thanks all!

Does it do in other drive modes, sport, tow etc.?
I'm going to find out!

Have a list of things to check after work:

1. Try it with Auto Stop turned off
2. Try it with Traction Control turned off
3. Try it in 4WD (to eliminate spinning tires as the cause)
4. Try in manual mode (to try and see which gear causes it)
5. Try in Eco Mode, Sport Mode, etc

Can you (safely) take a video of this happening?
Then you have proof to show to the dealer.
I have similar a experience of this but it only happens the first gear shift after sitting overnight.

I appreciate the advice all. Just day 3 here with 90 miles but either I got used to the shudder or it went away. Not noticing it anymore.

Maybe the transmission learning solved it, as I read that before too. Thanks all!

Check to make sure you're not in 4h. Don't know what tires you have but could be a new feeling with a knobby more open tread than you're used to.
