Probably a lot of truth to that.File this under for what it is worth. I have been reading this forum for several days now trying to understand the issues surrounding the delay in releasing the Rangers 6G that have been built and watching build dates slip like mine did several times when the first build date was issued. My order was confirmed May 30th 2023 as I have mentioned in previous posts I know it has been built and that it is sitting in a lot being held in a Quality Control Hold QCH and awaiting and Ok To Buy status OKTB. As I have mentioned it has been "in production" since January 11th with no change and yes I have the window sticker thanks to a post I found here that detailed how to get a copy of it.
I have come to what I think are valid conclusions as to the delay and the continued pushing back of build dates. Yes it is the infamous supply chain but here is my reasoning as to why it is effecting the release of Rangers sitting in a lot. It in my opinion relates to the chips or semi conductors that go in all vehicles these days. A chip is a chip and I believe Ford has made a conscious marketing decision to put what limited supply of chips they have into their hottest selling vehicles on the same assembly line the Rangers are made on and that would be the Bronco. They are a hot sellers and thus Ford made a market decision prioritizing Broncos over Rangers. They could also see a higher profit margin of the Bronco over the Ranger as a reason, again my opinion, but what else is this forum dedicated to but mostly opinions.
So that is my best way to explain why my truck ordered in May 2023 is not sitting in my driveway right now....ok ok yes there was a strike, but that is long over now.
becasue some people like All Terrain Nation have inside knowledge but just can't say everything about what they know. I think its the media event also along with some QC checks. I doubt it's a chip shortage.I know there’s really not much to talk about until the trucks are released, But unless you are talking to someone who is directly involved with Ford, I don’t know why people are bothering to type out the same totally arbitrary guesses about what’s going on everyday.
All-terrain nation is not one of the examples I was making, that’s someone who appears to be somewhat in the know, but I just read a three paragraph thesis about a chip shortage with no factual supporting evidencebecasue some people like All Terrain Nation have inside knowledge but just can't say everything about what they know. I think it's okay for guesses/speculation/discussion in one single thread, but it seems the topics of uncertainty have spread like covid over to multiple threads, which is a bit annoying.I know there’s really not much to talk about until the trucks are released, But unless you are talking to someone who is directly involved with Ford, I don’t know why people are bothering to type out the same totally arbitrary guesses about what’s going on everyday.
Guess that's because there isn't anything ELSE to discuss without any trucks~!!I think it's okay for guesses/speculation/discussion in one single thread, but it seems the topics of uncertainty have spread like covid over to multiple threads, which is a bit annoying.
I was scheduled for next week and went into production yesterday. With others having their scheduled weeks slip and some having theirs moved up, seems like a parts constraint. My Oxford build is a no options (no graphics) build apart from a drop-in bed liner. So, mine was March 25th. Yesterday I got this email:
Ray ,
We wanted to let you know that there has been a change to the production schedule for your 2024 Ranger Raptor® vehicle. We’re now looking at starting the build during the week of February 26, 2024
I find this hard to believe. Robo-email gone haywire maybe?
Where is the dude with the spreadsheet... we could probably figure it out if we had an updated version!I was scheduled for next week and went into production yesterday.
