If you got the FX4 it means you intend to use it off road so rear differential lock is an easy inclusion.
Definitely need to double check that with my order. Thought maybe it was included. Thanks!

So let me ask this. When I placed my order I tried my best to dot my i’s and cross my t’s. I said the 2.3L engine should be fine for MPG(maybe…) but I like to be ready for almost everything. FX4 package was a given. Tow packages were a given. What features do you all consider must haves?
You covered my list pretty well.
If you ordered the sport Lariat the integrated side step may be nice.
If the chrome package side step is required.

While you can make some small changes to your order after it’s scheduled but before it actually starts getting built, I don’t believe you can make any major changes. For example, the trucks with 2.7 engine might have a different code within the VIN number, so that might not be able to be changed once it’s scheduled since that is when the VIN number is generated.Long McArthur had a recent video on YouTube discussing making changes to your order after it’s scheduled so I suggest you watch it for more info.

The Tremor package is probably going to be a year or two down the line, not something they randomly change mid-Job 1.

It sounds like you aren’t entirely sure about your build. If I were you I’d cancel my order and think on it for another couple weeks/months if you have a working vehicle currently. You don’t want to be this uncertain going into your first ever new vehicle purchase in my opinion if you plan to keep it a long time.

The 2.7 will not be available to order until late fall. I contacted the dealer I have ordered from before and will be contacted when I can order. Pricing for the V6 option has not been announced but if it is the same as the 2024 Bronco expect to add $2145. to the price of the Ranger you order.
One note, some preliminary documents indicate the 2.7L V6 eco boost will only be available on the 4x4 and not the 4x2. Waiting to see the official announcement.

I will be ordering a 4x4 so it will not effect my plans but thanks for the info.

That would be a strange omission by Ford. I’ve seen engine choices be relegated based on trim level, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it tied directly to 4x4.

Well I really don’t know the limits of modifying an order after the dealership sends it in. That’s really only reason i mentioned the tremor package at all. I feel pretty solid now that I know the deadline and extent of the changes šŸ˜Ž

Never heard of Long McArthur before but sounds like another great place for some insight. Will definitely be checking that out. I appreciate that!

It wouldn't be the first time they've done it. For example, on the 5th Gen Explorer if you got the 3.5L it came automatically with Intelligent 4WD. It helps to think of it is "if you get the 2.7L, you get 4x4 automatically"

I just placed my order on 8/25 (or 26…I’ve slept since then). I have a order number and that’s it

I don’t know what priority I’ve got, but I expect to be included in Job 2. I know we’ve got a certain time frame to make modifications to our orders but I’m not really sure about the cut off time for that.

That being said my build is currently the Lariat with the FX4, TTP, and ATP packages.

This is meant to be my dream ride as I have never owned a brand new vehicle. Ever. I’ve always given that privilege to the Mrs.

So my questions are just these, if my order doesn’t get any traction before Ford hopefully releases any other packages (Tremor, wild track, etc)I should be able to make those changes? Also open to all advice on winning the Mrs. over to the 2.7 engine. I lost the argument on the Raptor:frown:

Thanks in advance!
I ordered the same optioned truck on 8/24. What color did you go with? Mine was HPR.

But you would still have to pay the $3,485 for the 4x4 in addition to the ~$2,000+ for the 2.7 engine, right?

That I don’t know. We’ll find out in a few months. I personally would never buy a 2wd truck so the cost of 4wd is already baked in. But others may view it differently.

I went with carbonized gray metallic. Wife wanted me to match her. Cause she’s weird but it looks good. Now if there was a green like I’ve seen on the raptor she would have been SOL.

I would assume you pay both, yes, but we will see.

I personally think regular 4x4 is mostly not worth it, good AWD is more effective at all speeds, or locking diffs are more effective at lower speeds for non-AWD. But that is for my purposes, glad they offer different options.

Understandable. This is my first 2wd purchase ever. I did debate whether I should wait for the 2.7, but if it’s not even an option for the 2wd, then that makes any debate moot. A ~$2,000 increase is a lot more palatable then a ~$5,485 increase, especially when that number is even higher with taxes and interest if you get a loan.
