2025 Ranger XLT
I rear end ended a car. Just something i learned from this is the Stock height of the Ranger is good.
I hit car bumper almost flush without hitting the trunk. I will not put a leveling kit on it for this reason.
I have a bit of crinkle on the silver cover under the bumper.
My main issue was the Bumper popped out from the fender. Was not sure how tweeked it was. Maybe. the alignment was not allowing the panel to click back in. I tried a few times to set it in place.
I did not feel that it would be worth it to pay a $500 Cnd deductible to have it repaired.
I work at a Polytechnic School. Trades training. They have a Body Work Building.
So I went there just to ask if it was worth the deductible. I had looked at some assembly drawings of the way the side molding etc. came a part.
The Instructor was kind enough to take it a part and click it back in. No clips broken. Beside the plastic screws holding the molding on, deeper in it had a white clip that I could see easily broken if forced. He created enough room to release the tension. He tried a few times to click it in.
From what i could see it had a similar locking system to what Ford uses on the back of the air filter box.
So it would not click back in. He noticed a tab had been pushed down not allowing it to lock. He wedged it up then it clicked in.
Great guy did it for free. I offered something for his work.
I think I would have been able to click it back in without removing molding.
There was a tab bent down. Just need to be lifted back in place then I think it would have just clicked back in.
I am happy I did not get the Blackout Package. My parking space is very tight in a condo. I have scraped the moulding. If painted t would look terrible. The rough black moulding hides scuffs.
