I'm going with a 3.5mm bluetooth adapter option. Just need to figure out which. I do love the record player, though.

Thanks everyone.

Way overdue update:

I purchased a SoundBot fm transmitter that gets power from usb: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N31AQ68?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

The old portable RCA cd player came with a power adapter that plugs into the 120v outlet in the back seat, which I discovered is only powered when the engine's running. The cd player sits on top of the wireless charging pad. The sound is basically fm quality, which is fine.

Next step - tucking a record player up under the glove box.

remember when you had those little pads with a bunch of springs under them to sit the portable cd player on so bumps wouldn't mess up the song?

Yes, I'm old fashioned. I would like a cd player (Cue the "You still use cds/dvds/physical media?"). I still have a couple of portable cd players, but I can't seem to find a 3.5.mm to usb adapter. Has anyone found such an adapter, or tried one of those car cd players on amazon that play and charge through usb-c?

Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for the exact same thing! I have a bluetooth cassette tape player that I purchased from We Are Rewind...I can never get the bluetooth option to connect and so I need another way to connect it to the vehicle. The Ford Ranger won't let you connect anything to the USB except a USB flash drive with music files on it....WTF...?! I have seen a couple of options in Amazon that I might look into but nothing has transpired yet. I mean, how hard is it to stick a 3.5 aux plug in the vehicle for anyone to use, right?!

Sounds like you found a good solution.
Similar setup to what I have done to get my phone to stream onto non Bluetooth radios of older vehicles, I have one in my 2001 Ram 2500. Just tune the radio to station needed. .

I think Ram was the last truck to offer it as an option, and it was a single disc player located in the console or under the center seat.
I think that ended after the 2018 model year.

I have lived through, 8 track, to cassette, to CD, to now streaming from the phone in my pocket.
‘I don’t really miss any of those old medias. 😝 lol

Hard to beat tapping a button on the steering wheel, tell Siri to play the song I feel like hearing and in 1-2 seconds it’s playing for me..

I don't, but I stuck with cassettes for the car and portables for the longest time.

I still have a 90's Sony "Sports "yellow waterproof boombox AM/FM/Cassette that will not die. Sony made some great electronics. They were the must have radio to take to the beach, pool, etc. If I ever need to play cassettes in my truck, I bring that with me. I use it at the campsite sometimes. My child is amazed by the portable technology that existed back "in the 1900's"
