I’ve had many dash cams in vehicles over the years and never had any issues, until my wife bought a Santa Cruz. It has been one problem after another with the camera interfering with accessories. One of which cost me $250 to resolve as I was convinced it was a vehicle issue alone only to find yet again it was the fuse used by the camera and I got charged by the dealer for the fix which meant pulling off the fuse tap. So, now I”m gun shy after having seen a couple of posts about the Ranger and dash cam installs experiencing the same type of issues. My 2020 Ranger Lariat had one installed, never had a problem but probably due to tech changes over the years, this may not be the case on the newer models.
Anyway, if someone could point me in the direction as to which fuse should work without issue, I would appreciate it. I don’t need constant on, only with ignition on, I don’t use the parked mode.
TIA for any help.

Under the BCM(fuse box) behind the kick panel are 3 blunt cut wires, a ignition wire, highbeam, and marker. my highbeam and marker wires, had the labels swapped, but the green/white wire is the ignition wire.

Me personally I have a OBD passthrough adapter for my dashcam. I am using the ignition wire, marker wire, and highbeam wires for my diode dynamics dswitch. to turn it on and off automatically, outside of the manual controls anytime. the marker wire to turn on my grill lights, and night mode on my dswitch, and the highbeam on the dswitch to automatically turn on my lightbar.

dashcam wire is ran across the headliner, ziptied to the wiring harness behind the airbags, down the Dash, plugged into the obd 2 port, and the excess is tied up and tucked up in the dash on side the bcm.
