reviving this thread as I've got my viofo cam in the mail and need to install it.

I know consensus was that we need to order that Micro3 fuse tap for #21/22, but does this also mean I need to pick up a micro 2 fuse tap for the one at #28? if the answer is yes, would a kit like this be sufficient? https://www.amazon.com/Gebildet-Circuit-Micro2-Holder-Harness/dp/B07ZV4LY54

sorry if this a dumb question, this is all new to me.
For the micro2, yes. I think that's the exact one I got. The micro3 is a little more challenging to find.

Don't understand why they can't take all the video feeds from the built in cameras and record them to some local storage? Come on Ford, seems an easy do.
Cost. Ford had been notorious on their cost cutting with this truck. They would have to add recording tech and would have to include better camera sensors. While the onboard cameras are good for backing up and seeing obstacles around you, they are not good for showing fine details like plate numbers and street sign prints, any fine details you need to prove a case in court. These would add cost and I'd bet most would like that cost used for rear vents, or drivers side grab handle, or J-brackets or any number of other areas Ford skimped on.

I purchased a Pelsee Mirror dash cam for my Ranger Raptor. I hooked it up to fuse #35 for ACC and fuse #28 for constant (Batt). Could you guys let me know if this is an OK setup?

#28 and #35 aren't used so those are perfect. Make sure you have your tap oriented correctly and all should be good.

Thanks. How should they be oriented?
Well if you assume all the fuse taps and the ranger fuse boxes are the same, then have the fuses in the fuse tap pointed up. I would always check with a voltmeter or fuse test light. If oriented incorrectly, you'll have power thru the circuit even without the fuse. So you'd be bypassing the fuse.

No problem!

I used the stock fuses in the factory locations (30A in #28 and 5A at #21 and 22), and I believe 5A for the tap positions. The dash cam only pulls around 2A if I remember correctly.

See pic for reference

Important to note orientation of the fuse taps matters. See the installation pics above, for the '24 Ranger, the fuse taps point up.
I'm purchased the same fuse tap but I can't seem to tell where the fuse box is location
on the drivers side. I see there's an air bag black box but no fuse box jumps out at me. Can you confirm the location?

Thanks for sending but I don't have the molded "handle" to pull down that's in the video.
I have a 24 RR and it has the lower molded panel, but I don't want to remove it if the fuses were located somewhere else.

Yes, same, no molded handle to pull. Just pull at the top. Here are some photos I just took to help:

Hi all. I'm looking for advice.

For note, the background of this question is in reference to the Wolfbox dashcam digital mirror.

The power adaptor an ACC wire with a bullet connect that I think is .25".
The Micro 3 Add-a-Fuse I picked up from amazon, I think has a .187" female connector.

Are you all just replacing the female connector or splicing these wires together, or is there some other solution that I'm not aware of?

Thanks!

This is the Micro 3 that I used and just swapped to a 5 AMP fuse. Worked perfectly and no trimming needed

Could someone help me and see if I’m doing this right or if I’m gonna screw myself over.
I have the micro 2 acc on 28 and the micro 2 Bat+ on 35

I also attached the ground to this bolt, would that be a problem?

I did get power to my dash cam but just wanna make sure I’m not gonna screw myself in the long run.

Your fuse selection looks good, verify with a multimeter or test light to make sure you get power as expected (ACC on/off). As for the ground, personally I would pick a ground that has full metal contact. It looks like the one you selected has plastic on one side and grounding is only through the bolt threads. I used the bolt that is visible in your second photo.

I just want to say thank you, to all of you that have put in work to get this figured out; sharing the info and providing assistance when its needed. With all of your info in this thread I was able to hard wire for parking mode, my redtiger dash cam (not a bad camera if you can get past the UIX) I couldn't use the 12v adapter because I ran out of length.

Thanks ya'll!
