I have a question regarding dealer support. When I get ready to buy a truck. If I find what I like at a reasonable price, there is a good chance I might buy it from a dealer thats not local. I see where lots of people have did this, flying to other states to get a truck. Any issues getting your local dealer to service the truck since they didn't get the sale? I haven't dealt with a ford dealership In many years. My most recent dealer is a Toyota dealer. They are very good. But the vehicle I bought is not known for problems. Toyota doesn't make a truck I am interested in now. The number of recalls ford has is concerning, especially if issues with dealership. But there are other dealerships relative close to me.

Dealerships make their money off service. You'll be fine wherever you go (as long as they're competent).

I purchased my RR from out of state. I don’t expect any issues my local dealership handling warranty and recall work. And let’s be honest, being a first year production run in NA these trucks will have recalls.

Iā€˜m on the fence about how they might handle cosmetic issues. When I had my truck in to get my tires moved to new wheels and get my keypad installed I mentioned my loose driver seat and a very small hood dimple and that others have seen similar issues but that Ford was not doing too much about it yet. I mentioned I took pictures with date codes on them to show they were noticed shortly after I got the truck. I think I’m going to see if they will do anything about the hood dimple as the truck went through manufacturing right before they started pulling trucks out into QC hold for unspecified hood issues. I want to get the entire front end PPF’d but would want the hood fixed before that in case it isn’t something that can be massaged out in the body shop.

My biggest issue with my local dealership is they are always booked out a week or two.

You’ll have zero issues getting it serviced wherever you want.

By their dealership franchise agreement with Ford, they are obligated to service and warranty any Ford vehicle that is presented to them regardless of where you bought it.

That out of the way, the reality ā€œmayā€ be different in how they treat you bringing in a vehicle bought elsewhere. A dealership is going to prioritize customer paid work, bought at their dealership warranty work customers and then everybody else.

Most dealerships will treat everybody pretty much fairly and the same. The caveat will be when you run into issues that are on the margins of either just being out of warranty or where a judgment call needs to be made either by the dealership service department and/or Ford corporate service rep. You are more likely to get a dealership that you actually bought from to step up and advocate on your behalf than one that you did not buy from and has no skin in the game to help in these matters.
