Did I get a lemon?

So I had driven my 2026 Ranger XL for a short errand this morning. I went out and started it later on and got the errors you see attached. I started it later on and did not receive any messages.

I had the same issue at the end of July and start of August. It was diagnosed as a failed wheel speed sensor. I bought my truck June 23 and it has been in the shop on two different occasions for a total of 15 days. The truck drove with no issues after the initial message.

An attorney I work with is active in the Lemon Law field. He said lemons do exist but more people believe they have a lemon that actually do.

I am going to be at Ford tomorrow, first thing. Anyone else with a Ranger needing multiple attempt to fix something like this? The first question, in my mind, is did the same sensor they replaced, fail again?

Welcome to computers on wheels. Every little thing has a sensor on it and sometimes they don't talk with each other.

When I bought my Ranger I started to get this message. I took my Ranger to the Ford Dealer and they were convinced mice had eaten my wiring and wanted my truck for a week. A couple of other people in this forum were getting the same message. At this point I cancelled my week long appointment at the Ford dealer and referred him to this forum showing other people getting this message.

I got a software update a couple of week later and I never got the message again

First, kinda suprised they would be open on Labor Day. Second, would only expect sales to be open if any.

Wheel speed sensors generally either work or don't. Nicked wiring or a sensor that's not plugged in all the way will result in "random" failures. Either way, pull the codes at a local auto shop or buy your own OBDII scanner. It will tell you what's wrong.

Although you might feel you got a lemon, you are no where near that classification legally.

Take it to the dealer (probably not on Labor Day as most all service departments are closed for national holidays) and let them fix it.

Actually, I am already in the classification for Florida. There are several different ways to meet the criteria and having your vehicle out of service for 15 days puts you in that range. On that point, I am there. I believe you also have the same issue 3 times and the 4th you can send notice to the manufacturer. Tomorrow will be the third trip.

The point of my post was to see if other Ranger owner have had these same random messages pop up on their vehicle. I wanted to find out if they did happen were they: successfully resolved, were they still dealing with the issue or if they decide to live with them. This is a brand new truck and I wanted to find out from other Ranger owners if I am the exception or the rule.

My biggest concern is that the truck is going to perceive an issue (real or just a glitch) and leave me stranded.

I went out and started it this morning and no messages on the truck.

If you Google "Ford Service AdvancedTrac" or "Ford failed wheel speed sensor" There's a lot of links from Ford & people who have had either issue and how to fix it.

Keep in mind if Ford finds wiring that looks like it was chewed up by mice it's not covered by your warranty.

I live in South Florida, it's more likely an iguana.

The truck has 2400 miles on it. Bought it June 23, 2026. This is the 3rd trip to the dealer. It has been at the dealership for 15 days so far. I have owned it for 76 days. So it's been in my driveway 80% of the time and at the dealer 20% of the time.

I know an attorney that handles Lemon Law situations. Typically filing a Lemon Law claim is usually the last options and you are better working it out with the dealer/manufacturer.

Aside from the Lemon Law legal aspect, I am wondering if this truck is a lemon. I see many of you are having very positive experiences with your vehicles. I am wondering if this one is the exceptions.

I have a 2024 that was at a dealership for a brake warning issue 4 times, each time for 3 to 5 days. Never fixed. I finally took it to a different dealership, got it back the next morning. Fixed. I was dealing with an imcompetent dealer.
