Do you know what a capacitor is? Understand anything about electrical engineering?
The starter doesn’t put any strain at all on any computer…

the start/stop routine major issue is not on starter, battery or electronic; they surely wear out faster, but the big deal is on the engine. one of the reason why the ASS is disabled by the car until the engine reaches a certain temp.
the ASS is an issue for reliability overall, but a lot of mitigation has been put in. ASS battery is different than standard GEL, starter is different, engine cams are different etc etc...all to avoid the reliability issues that ASS was exhibiting when firstly deployed. Yet, I do not like the feature too mainly because it's annoying how it interacts with driving. sometimes it has the right delay to avoid multiple start/stop in a very short period of time, but sometimes it does not (like when parking etc). if it was tuned properly I would not mind and in normal city driving it does help pollution (somehow...but in the long run it does not as DPF saturates quicker), but in the way it is implemented on ranger it sucks. my partner's audi has the same feature, but it works flawlessly (and you can disable permanently)
