I had read soemewhere that by removing the engine covers, the 2.7 in the f150s ran cooler under heavy load.

Interesting. That's kind of what I was thinking. Thank you for clarifying. It's probably the same reason they're not on 3.0's.......

Got my engine cover installed and fit's perfectly. I had one on my 2019 and this 24 has all the same mounting points. I think it does a good job of completing the finished look of the motor. These used to be standard on the 5g Lariat's, at least the 2019's.

A previous thread (not sure where I saw it but it's on this forum) mentioned that the engine cover prevents water possibly entering at around the 50k mark. I'm wanting to add this mod, but Ford wants $14 per post (need 2) and $20 per nut (need 2). Just too expensive on mounting for me.

Rats just LOVE engine covers. It provides a perfect little home to build a nest and raise children. It also lets them eat wiring looms in privacy. Win-win for the rats!

i wonder if any junkyard rangers are new enough to get one of those from? it definitely looks better with a cover on it
