Own a 2025 Raptor and purchased part # BAK-448342 from Real Truck. Installed it and couldn't get any of the latches to secure. Talked to customer service, got some "tips", did a reinstall, and still was unable to get the latches to secure. Sent a bunch of photos, went back and forth, had 2 other folks help me with another reinstall attempt.. no luck.

BAKflip wanted to replace the cover, stating a new cover may solve the problem 😅. I chose doing the free return with Real Truck and am going to try out the Undercover Brand. None of the parts looked damaged.. everything looked as it should... so who knows why the product didnt work as advertised.

Just a heads up to those who are shopping around for a tonneu cover. Perhaps others has had better luck with their product... for me, not this time.

Incidentally, I stopped by a local place that does tonneaus today and they said they won't sell the MX4 right now because of the number of issues they have with them. Unfortunately, RT bought all these companies so it's hard to say how much real innovation or quality matter when they are all the same price from the same dealer. All the products looked similar enough in each category to the untrained eye. I guess I was a bit more impressed with the Extang latch over the pull cord.

Ima be real sad if the Undercover Brand turns out to have the same problems.

Ill keep this updated on the return and purchase process.

When you mention not being able to get the latches to secure, is it that the fixed rails on the bed sides are too far outboard from the latches?

When trying to flip the cover down and secure it, none of the latches could make it beyond the rails vertically... meaning that unless I apply extra ordinary force, the latches wouldn't snap underneath the rail.

Same truck and same cover. Install was easy. No issues to report.

My Gen2 was installed by a local dealer. I had an issue with the seal nearest to the cab became loose and slid about 16 inches out. I believe this was because the hand screws near the top of the bed were either not screwed tight enough or simply became loose enough after the famous “Ford flex”. The repair involved loosening the hand screws and sliding the seal back in place and taping down the vertical strips of rubber near the cab. Now 2.5 months later I’m sitting in the waiting room at the dealership getting a completely new MX4 bedcover installed because of the delay in getting replacement vertical rubber strips. At this point I don't know if the replacement is a gen 2 or 3. The dealer says they don’t know of any major recalls with the MX4. Obv, here I am.

Edit: the new cover is a Gen 3. There are 4 "end caps" at each corner.

Installed my MX4 (Gen 3) on 25 Raptor, easy install, fit perfect, after getting a new bulkhead seal as original wouldn’t stick to anything.

Yes, I went with the Undercover Armor Flex tri-fold and am quite happy with it.
