Fake exhaust sound on XLT?

Is that a fake exhaust sound I hear when I switch to Sport mode and is there a way to eliminate it?

I thought that the mode controllable sound was a Raptor only thing. What are you hearing per mode change?

After more driving around yesterday and last night I concluded that the engine sounds are in every mode but more noticeable in sport mode because sport mode holds onto the gears longer and allows the RPMs to go higher. I am still not sure if it's real or fake but my gut feeling is that it's fake. I found this video:

Like you, all I hear is the exhaust tone with RPM change. Ranger On!

nope, no sound if fake, just higher rev in sport so sounds louder

I don’t think ive Noticed any fake sound in my lariat. I think as others have mentioned it just holds a higher rpm versus normal or eco

I also didn’t notice until someone posted, that Sport turns off auto stop start.

ive found my self using sport a lot these days because of the engine braking.

i can use a lot less brake when stopping because the it downshifts earlier.

makes The driving experience like my venerable Toyota 5 speed manual trucks that I drove for 40;years
