Anyone add the FMI 2024 RR Rear Shock Skid Kit to their 2025 RR? SKU: FMI050120030130101

I had two issues that prevented installation, one was “fit” and one was not being able to realign the shock to the axel.

I was never able to get these to fit on my 2025 RR. The clearance between the rim/tire was so tight I couldn’t horse it on. There don’t appear to be any significant differences in 2024 and 2025 MYs for the rear shocks. I have the 17-in beadlocl capable wheels rather than the 18-in stock wheels. That MIGHT be enough of a difference for the tight clearance.

Then there was the issue of not being able to get the bolt hole aligned between the shock and the axle (tried for about 4 hours to relax the tension on the springs). Ended up having it trailered to the dealer and even they spent 45 min to get the bolt back in.

I emailed Foutz about fit but never heard back. So I have some $200 metal paper weights I suppose. :(

Dang, sorry to hear install went sideways for you.

Following this. These were one of the last few things I wanted to get for wheeling in the next month or so (along with their lower arm frame guard).

The good news on the 2025RR there is a pretty substantial bash plate already on the rear shocks so the FMI rear Shock Skid kit might be overkill. I got the FMI lower arm guards too and the install was pretty straightforward, although I did break the "flag" off the flag bolt on the driver's side. With the gas tank there the install location is VERY tight and loosening that bolt enough to "flip" the flag stressed it too much. I have a replacement bolt but may have my mechanic deal with that.

I also installed the FMI rear diff plate and trailing arm sensor protectors (fit is good). Along with the full set of Rival plates and a set of front arm protectors (Cross Edge Fabrication) I feel like I'm covered for most of the situations I'm going to find myself in.

Were you trying to install these on the ground with weight on the rear axle?

Good question. Per the installation instructions I lifted the vehicle by the rear diff. Even used multiple jacks and stands to release spring tension both with and without the tire on.

That aside, the FMI rear shock skid plate wouldn’t clear the wheel and tire due to its width without rubbing.
