This is the correct one they are sending me next week👍🏻
At this point folks I can’t recommend RCI. They talk a good game but I was just told today (after I inquired about it) that I can’t get the front skid plate I originally purchased on October 1st for at least two more weeks. They over promise and under deliver. I’m starting to regret my purchase at this point.

It sounds like a communication mistake by a sales rep. It’s tough to depend on sales reps to fully understand production scheduling and minor variations in product differences between the Ranger and RR. This type of information needs to be disseminated down on a weekly basis and is often missed. I'm not trying to make excuses for them, but these things do happen in every industry. Hopefully, they will take the feedback and correct the situation for the future.

I will vouch for the quality of their products. They have taken massive hits on several different vehicles, and I’ve never had a failure. I also appreciate made-in-the-USA products. That’s no easy feat with the cost of metals.

Any updates on this? I ordered a full set of RCI skid plates for my RR. I got the 3/16 steel plates. Anyone get those? The engine skid is about 35lbs more than the aluminum version. Wondering if anyone has them and what their thoughts are on them.

They now have a proper front skid for the RR. I’ve run both. They both have held up great from minor impacts. You will be less prone to bending the skids with steel, but obviously, there is a weight penalty. I also think the raw aluminum looks killer in person.

Is there significant loss of ground clearance with RCI skids? It seems like engine skid is about an inch lower and transmission skid is another inch lower. In my experience, its usually the front cross members are the culprit.

I wouldn’t order anything from these folks. I ordered my set on October 1st and I was told they were in stock and ready to ship on October 1st. Today I learned that they still have not shipped. There’s a lot of stuff between these two facts, but without going into the whole mess I’ll just say the only thing these folks seem good at manufacturing is excuses.

Did you get aluminum or steel? I ordered steel around the time you did and I just received notification that the last engine skid will arrive at my house tomorrow. It’s been a long wait and I wonder what the cause for delay was, but the other two skids I ordered are good quality so if this one comes in with the same quality I will be satisfied.

Just installed 3/16 inch steel RCI skid plates on my RR. I have the engine skid, transmission skid, and the t-case skid. I weighed the parts I removed vs the new skids I installed and I am now 87lbs heavier overall. The t-case skid is 21.6 lbs heavier. The engine skid is 27.8 lbs heavier, and the new transmission skid weighed 37.8 lbs.

I measured my height in the front and back before and after installing the skids. I put the truck on a lift then lowered and jumped on the side steps before my measurements both times. I saw 1/4” drop in the front and no drop in the back. I then drove it around and parked it and measured again and it dropped a bit more but I don’t know what the stock measurement should be normally. If anyone knows what your stock height measurement is from the ground to the center highest point of the wheel fender is I would be interested.

If anyone is interested, you can install these with one person. I did, but it was a little difficult due to their weight. Also I measured the lowest point on the skids and it is about 1/2” lower than the cross bars on the truck, so you lose about 1/2” of ground clearance. I don’t think that’s a big deal.

For those interested in going with this steel skid plate setup, I think I lost 1/2” of lift due to the weight of these skids. I also plan to add rock sliders in the future so I am guessing adding heavier springs in the front is in my future as well.
