That is an interesting read. However I would ask, if the testing is a harsh and complete as claimed, why are the recall items discovered well after production has commenced? This all raises questions about the testing and if it's as complete as claimed?
Looking at my recall history it doesn’t seem like these are things that would be easy to uncover in testing: for example, the metal bracket *potentially* cutting an airbag when deployed. Software updates are interesting too, because we don’t know if a bug was introduced in a software update after this rigorous testing. It’s easy to pop-poo ford’s work here, but I don’t think that’s an accurate picture, nor complete because this durability testing is t the only testing that takes place.

OK, I get it. The real question is: Why didn't Quality Control catch it?
These aren't defective parts. Just like the 2.3 recall, it's parts installed incorrectly.
