Out of the 25/26 or the 24, the 24 needs it more since it doesn't have dual injection
Thanks for all the info gents! It I am still
Wondering why do we need the catch can? I get it mine was manufactured on 10/24, and each has its own manufacturer date.

But if Ford covers the trucks warranty for 5-years/60k miles… whether or not it does have dual injection or not, shouldn’t Ford honor its warranty for 24/25/26 trucks differently or the same?

I am not sure the reason is as consumers have to add this part, or is there a reason why Ford doesn’t have them as stock parts?

I am not sold on the need for them but I did install the J&L on my 25 RR mainly because the price was reasonable and it’s super easy to install and drain. I am surprised at the amount of crap I get out of it every few thousand miles. A couple ounces of brown gassy smelling crap.

You will probably not notice the slow loss of power and performance on the 24 2.3. direct injection doesn't wash the backs of the valves and they come up very slowly which cuts flow into the cylinders. We are talking 150k+ miles though so it's a very very slow change. And then to clean, it, you can have ford do it or you can buy a little kit and try it your self. It's a half day to a day job on your own, depending on how comfortable you are talking some stuff apart

My son had a 2014 focus at with direct injection and he sold it at 160 (something around that) miles and it was still a hot rod. If it was coked up, we couldn't tell. He drove it across the usa for stuff the army would send him to and it never gave him a bit of issue. He just woke that car last year.

If you are just going to have the truck for 3-5, maybe 10 years, you probably won't ever need to worry about valve coking, but if you are going to own it till you die, it may save you from having to have your intake and valve walnut or media blasted in the future.

I had one in my 2017 Nissan titan with the 5.6 V8 because those seemed to come up faster then ford engines did. I drained about an inch of stuff out of the canister each oil change. I used a j+l can because they are the best prices for the super nice set up you are getting. You mount it and hook it into the system and just unscrew the can to drain it. No tools or unhooking hoses needed.
