The Bronco deviates quite a lot from the Everest and Ranger Raptor's suspension setups, so it will be interesting to see which this has. Based on the fact it has tubular trailing arms I suspect it is using the Everest's suspension module.
Edit; only the BRaptor uses the fabricated trailing arms.
It looks like it's spring on shock, so it will be more Ranger Raptor based using an Everest based rear axle for track width. Will not be an Everest based suspension as the spring is seperate and the shock mount is different and so is the basic suspension geometry. Bronco geometry is very similar to the Ranger Raptor, except it uses a Panhard rod over the watts link. Also the Bronco will run down an assembly line much easier basing the rear end off the Multi Link beam axle then a leaf spring. Interesting thing is it wouldn't take much to do a RHD Bronco out of China.

I forgot that the Everest has separate shock and spring. God Ford hate having common configs, surely it must cost them a fortune (I really don't get it sometimes).

Maybe this is how Australia gets RHD Factory Broncos?

Agree totally a lot of wastage! Everest was benchmarked against Prado, but with the watts link. Would have been much better off-road vehicle with the Panhard, found the Everest I had lacked good rear end wheel travel when off-road. Why they didn't offer the disconnect stab bar off the Bronco is beyond me, another mistake. Bring on the RHD Bronco !

Realistically the Everest is limited by the shock/spring combination and the rear sway bar, not the Watts link. The Ranger Raptor has the same Watts link but no sway bar and the longer travel shocks.

changing administrations and ideologies on display there unfortunately :frown:
Wonder how that will work out when two navy fleets meet up at the place in the Pacific that makes all of the chips? Hate to say it but it’s very possible.

agreed. I'm trying to leave out the overtly political aspects of this stuff since we've all seen what happens to our forums when people open that can of worms :punch:

Agreed but it's the elephant in the room that nobody wants to acknowledge even though it's there and very real. Cell phones at $10k and a two year waiting list unless you're somebody "special"

Lot's of money to make there. Is it an existing plant in China. Do you pull the plug when things go South and exit the country. After all that investment. Hard to not follow what everyone else is doing.

Ford Ranger To Be Manufactured And Sold In China (fordauthority.com)

The Blue Oval hasn’t confirmed where in China it’ll build the Ranger. It has two joint ventures with Chinese brands however – one with Changan, which has been around since 2012, and another with JMC that was confirmed in January 2022.

Given JMC manufactures a version of the ute-based Everest for China, and has experience with commercial vehicles through its own utes and vans, it seems likely the JMC Ford Technology joint venture will be responsible for building the Chinese Ranger.

Some great insight, thanks. It makes sense to follow the competition and manufacture in China, although it will be interesting to see how Ford lovers feel about this. Seems like a decent enough move from a business stand-point but not sure how well it will resonate with the target demographic... but if we get some quality vehicles from this, maybe it will be a worthwhile change.
