Ford lug nuts are what stopped me from ever using wheel locks again.
had a swollen ford nut round off and was stranded. Could not drive it with rim on the car.
fast forward kid and auto store had me use this. They are reverse threaded and lock once it bottoms out. No rim damage!
It damages the nut but will remove one.
kid also told me his gang friends used em to swipe rims off exotic cars including locks in seconds

I think it's just a ford thing. My 2017 FoST had the same problem and I was unaware of it back then. Once I bought the truck I knew replacing the lug nuts was #1 priority before i got stranded with a socket that didn't fit.
Not just a Ford thing. Had GM back in the eighties that the chrome caps came off the lug nuts. Lug wrench didn't fit without the cap. Had to replace all the lug nuts with solid steel lug nuts. Also my neighbors Durango had the swollen lug nut problem. Took forever to find sockets that fit, they were now different sizes.
Wish manufacturers would spend a couple of bucks extra for solid lug nuts.

I agree. my daughter had a 2012 Suzuki (as far as I know a GM product) that had that happen. I had to use a lug nut remover to get most off. One nut I just couldn’t do anything with and had to have my mechanic use a torch to burn it off.
