Yeah, that’s how I understand them working - if you put 1000’ of dirt in the bed, the lights would otherwise be blinding oncoming, so they auto tilt to compensate…
A level/lift would upset the aim in the same way, but is the system smart enough to level? AND does it have enough range in the auto level to compensate for the front being lifted 1.5 or 2”??

it’s testable, but I won’t be near my truck for a few days, but if you park on level ground in the dark with a wall infront, and go jump on the tailgate (or get a few friends to,) they should dance themselves back to level…🤷‍♂️

Agreed. when I put the 2 1/2" level on my truck, I had to manual adjust the headlights. Pretty easy task, takes about 10 minutes.
How did you do it? Did you mark where the headlights shined pre-install and then adjust back to that post-install?

So there is a 2.0" and 2.5" shock body and there is an "HD Tune" which I assume is for trucks with additional weight added over stock (i.e. Front winch)?

What's the difference between the 1.5-3" and the 0-3"? Why the need for both? Also, having never done a leveling kit before, what else is involved besides installing the coil overs and getting an alignment?
The 1.5" - 3" is ultimately for the 2WD trucks. It can fit all of them, but the 0"-3" are specific to the 4WD trucks.

Basic steps.
Park truck on level pavement, 25 feet from wall.
Measure center of headlights.
On wall, measure and mark 2" below center of headlight measurement.
Adjust headlights (on low beam) so that top of illuminated area is at the mark on wall.
This vid shows more detail, not specific to Ranger, just a overview.
How to Aim and Align your Headlights Correctly

I'm just waiting for them to come back in stock, then jumping on them : )
Which series are you planning on going with?

I’m planning on the 2.0’s. I’m mostly on-road, not towing a ton and don’t plan on a winch. My main focus is to keep the ride quality intact.

That’s great info. Thank you for sharing.
In September I reached out to Bilstein asking about a 5100 set as I really enjoyed the kit on my 2019.

“Thank you for reaching out to Bilstein of America. We appreciate your interest in our products.

While we do not have a future estimated release date, new applications are added regularly, and we do anticipate supporting this in the future. We encourage you to periodically check our online catalog for updates.”

Hopefully soon! I wonder what is taking these guys so long to develop aftermarket for the 6G.
In late Dec '25 i emailed them and got this response back the next month, i also asked about Bronco crossover fitment and they said no, as answered below;

Hello Rob,

Thank you for contacting Bilstein of America and your interest in our products.

At this time, Bilstein has not officially released fitment confirmation for the 2024 + model year Ford Ranger platform. While the vehicle may be available, we wait for manufacturer specifications and conduct our own validation to ensure proper compatibility and performance. If the suspension carries over unchanged from 2024, there’s a good chance our existing products will fit Once confirmed, we’ll update our catalog accordingly, but we can’t guarantee it until testing is complete.

Also, the Ford Ranger and the Ford Bronco are not compatible platforms from one to another.

I hope this clears up any questions you may have, and if you need any further assistance, please feel free to reach out. Thank you.

Kind Regards,

After a TON of research and talking to people who have had both Bilstein and Eibach, I'm going Eibach. Even if Bilstein was available, they aren't superior unless youre doing a TON of towing or high speed off roading.
For everyone else, it seems the Eibach are the better play.

Yea that's why i looked at this thread as I'm l looking for an alternative to Bilstein i want a level and a shock that is not as 'mushy or soft' as the factory ones i cant take that floaty rebound feeling anymore.
I had the 5100's on my 5G and that was a much more controlled ride over those soft shocks.
Ford just reused the same valving right thru the Gens it appears.

The Eibach 2.0 Pro Truck system with the rear reservoirs is the way to go (currently out of stock until June 5 - they go FAST).
FOX is too soft and Bilstein is harsh as eff.
