I installed it. It's OK. It does seem to open REALLY slow compared to the video. Got the genuine VW part too. Also did the felt liner mod. Whoever did that on the forums recently and posted their pics made it look really easy lol. Went thru a couple Xacto blades. Of course you always get good doing something the first time at the end.

My Chinese damper opens exactly as shown in the video. I would suggest buying a $5 clone on eBay or AliExpress. I see that this VW OE part fits the Atlas SUV. My daughter has one, I just checked; it seems that the damper is located closer to the glovebox hinge than in the Ranger Raptor.

Ha, I suppose I should have mentioned I made cardboard templates and then traced the felt with them.

I assume once it has some weight in it that it will change the speed to which it opens.

Fancied up my interior just a bit. Installed the soft open bracket from the Volkswagen Amarok in the glove box, took two minutes to install and prevents the box from just dropping open.

Hello everyone, I only understood half of this video I found on YouTube, but if you’re interested, my local dealer told me this is a VW sourced part. P/N F5G1858309 for all next-gen global Rangers. AliExpress sells these for cheap, so I decided to give it a try and I'm quite happy with it. It might be a minor change, but it adds a "luxurious feel" that my F150 had when I opened the glovebox ?

This is great! Also ordered one from ebay, $12. Appreciate this, it's the little things.

Just FYI found this on on Amazon even says its for Fords just not the ranger but looks the same as the others. 10 bucks. I will see if its a good option as well.
