From the manufacturer:
"The trailing arm sensor guards, part number 72-3000, are made from steel. The material specification is 0.120" thick steel sheet "

Why run steel at all? Isn’t the point just to protect the sensor from becoming unplugged & keeping the big debri off of it? If the steel took a big enough bash then it might damage or crush & encapsulate the sensor. Plus the whole road salt issue some are concerned with.

Why not run a thick plastic poly set? Then if they take a serious hit maybe they’ll just bend, stress, deflect, or snap and not crush around or into the sensor and no worry of corrosion, ever. Like something from ARK splashguards. That’s what I’ve been using. Haven’t given me one bit of trouble. Stout as hell, only $45 bucks, look good, and best part…readily available and made right here in the U.S. in Phoenix, AZ. Great customer service and took only 3 days to get once I ordered them. You can even customize the logo colors just to jazz it up a bit. Just a dash of the orange in front the rear tire looks kinda neat & different to me. And if you do ruin one $45 is cheap to have to go after another set.
Not telling ya it’s the best or only option, just putting it out there that it’s an option.

Thanks for showing these. I hadn't seen those and they are probably what I'm going to buy.
