Anyone know what this is? Just noticed it today. To be fair, I've only had the truck for a year though...

Ford Ranger "Hands on steering wheel" icon in tach? Hands on Wheel

Not hide nor hair in the manual, though the search function is abysmal, so maybe I just didn't find it.

RR Instrument Cluster Indicators

Also just spent a good 90 seconds googling it, but I got exhausted from the effort and just came here instead...

It's almost certainly something to do with the Lane Keeping System, but nothing so simple as "Keep your damn hands on the wheel" (which already is more than taken care of by the annoying and constant pop up message in the center). It also seems a bit subtle for that purpose considering Ford's proclivity for shouting at you for no reason...

I tried to observe its behavior to decipher its purpose, but I quickly decided I was an idiot road hazard by trying to keep one eye on the road and the other on the cluster. Had my wife hunting it on her phone, but service was poor and she got bored after about 5 minutes...

I'm pretty sure it vanishes whenever the lane keep loses sight of the lines, but it doesn't seem to instantly return when the happy little blue bars return over on the right side under the speed display. Seems that would be redundant anyway.

Anyway, let's see who's first to give me the "RTFM" and/or "It's obviously XXXXXX, you knucklehead"...

P.S. I wonder if they fired the Software Engineer who forgot to put numbers on the speed indicator ring...

I cant say I have ever noticed that symbol’ on my dash being displayed, but I have had the pop up warning to keep hands on the wheel. Everytime my hands were on the wheel, lol, 😂

I have no idea what that yellow icon is that's located in the bottom right corner of your picture. Nothing in the owner's manual that I could find.

I think that’s the lane departure warning Symbol.

I'm not sure what it indicates but it makes me want to listen to some 'Roadhouse Blues'.

Same thing happen to me yesterday for the 1st time, driving to Sioux Falls SD on I29.
The only reason I can come up with as to why it came on was that the road still had some frost and it was foggy as well. Maybe the lane assist was having issues seeing the stripes on the road.

Watching mine, I could not correlate what is being indicated when the yellow color is cycling.
It’s green when your centered in the lane and orange when your not.

Ok, starting to make sense. On two lane roads, I'm always on the fog line--especially when the dump trucks are coming. Now I'll have to watch for the green color as I don't recall seeing that. Thanks. 👍
