Can someone give insight as to how my new 2025 Ranger Raptor will at times, unexpectedly lauch full blast from a stop sign or red light?! This is no joke. My wife at first thought I was joking around. Almost rear ended two vehicles. Bring it to my Ford dealer and they say no recall on what I am describing, so their is no Mfg directive on how to fix. This dealer also installed the 3.0 Ford performance calibration software. Anyone know what is causing or what I might direct dealer to evaluate. I left the truck at dealer until after holiday.

I installed the day I picked up the 2025 Ranger Raptor on July 1, 2025 a pig-tail Anti-auto start switch i.e. illiminated the use/activation of the auto start stop switch. The part iinstalled behind the glove box.

I won't pretend to yet know how all of these irritatingly numerous computer systems are interconnected, but it might be a good idea to bring it back to stock, in that regard, for diagnostics.

That said, maybe someone here has the answer just ready to go; or maybe it's a not a possibility at all.

I had a similar thing happen when my transmission was still learning. Had to practically two foot smash the brake pedal at a red light to come to a stop and stay still. I haven’t had it happen since. I’m at 5500 miles and I was very wary when I had the FP tune installed and the Trans had to do a relearn. I added an extra car length at lights. But luckily all is well 750 miles into the tune.

Good to know someone out their experienced the same thing...unexpected engine launch from a stand still - start with the gasps pedal.
At 600 miles it started with the adaptive cruise control....would immediately take over the set speed on the highway and kept climbing until I hit the brakes.
At 700 miles 3 episodes of the engine launching at a stop sign or light, after lightly pressing gas pedal, let up then lightly back on.....it took off like I was at the drags....almost rear ended on two occasions. Diffently had to mash the brakes as hard as I could but did not initially kill the automatic excellation. Very scary.

hmm? just a random thought, could the FP tuner be incompatible withe the auto start/stop delete? 🤔
That was what I was thinking. It will be one of the steps I will take to narrow down the launch from a stop issue. Dealer wants me to bring back the 3.0 Ecoboost Calibration box containing all assessories they used to tune the 3.0 liter motor. Not sure at this time (holiday weekend), they plan to do. This dealer is closed lips as to what if anything they will do to possibly fix.
Thank you for you input!

Hmmm... did this happen before or after the ABS module update for the recall?

Regardless, reports like the random drive mode changes and this one are the reason that outside of a Bakflip and Bedrug, I'm resisting all temptation and keeping things as they came from the factory. Might be boring, but I'm beginning to think I prefer that to unexpected levels of excitement.

Do you have sync auto update turned on?
I do not knowing at this point. Dropped off 3.0 Ecoboost calibration unit at dealer this morning (Tuesday, 9/2/2024). Believe dealer is going to uninstall 3.0 performance calibration i.e. bring back to stock.

The launch situtation happen when the ABS MODULE recall was announced. Truck should have the recall addressed while now at dealer, as my truck was recalled as confirmed by dealer.

Thx! Not that one would expect that a fix to the braking issue would cause the sort of problem you're seeing, but given the throttle gets cut when the brakes are applied (or can you left foot brake a Raptor given the Baja mission? Hadnt thought to try it yet) there is some interaction between the two. Nice to know this isnt a newly introduced issue.

Hope they get you sorted out quickly.

My truck is new and I just did the FP tune. While the trans is learning i have to be careful in sport mode as sometimes it downshifts so aggressively when slowing it will lunge forward and I need to pay attention to the braking. I assume that will improves as it learns, I am only a half tank into the tune.
