I doubt the dealer will take $5K off the price. Instead, I believe the dealer can file a Misbuild Claim with Ford to get the rear seats replaced. The challenge is that you are working with an out of state dealer which makes the fix logistically difficult. Perhaps make an arrangement to have the seats shipped to and installed by your local Ford dealer?

I would consider looking locally for another vehicle. Getting the seat swapped out might be difficult with an out of state dealership.

Put money down on a new in stock ranger raptor. Going through the photos it was discovered that the factory installed the lariat back seat and not the Raptor! I went through the photos multiple times and never noticed so it does not look egregious. What is the conventional wisdom here? Called Ford and they said it's on the dealer to initiate a misbuild but dealer said they called Ford and Ford said it's on the dealer to pay for it which is disappointing since its Ford's mistake. What amount off would be worth it or is this something to worry about since it was missed by the factory and who knows if they missed something worse.

Crazy isn't it LOL. if the truck has not been received by the dealer how d you know the wrong back seat has been installed? has the truck been built yet? iwho could have taken the photos of your truck? if you are seeing brochure photos on the build site which is not your truck but "Brochure" renderings I would not count on any of that to be accurate. I ordered a Lariat with the Chrome Package and the photos of my order on the bill it site had a number of error on it, but the actual truck was correct. I hope this is what is going on with your build

My purchasing dealer is trying to work with Ford (my dealer has been great). My dealer received the truck in as a dealer swap from a different dealer for a truck my dealer had on their lot so my dealer did not do the initial inspection. Not sure why Ford would not be able to send a new seat to a dealer near my house. Already made plans to pick this truck up out of state and make it into a mini vacation (only time off this year) so I am going to be sorely disappointed with Ford if they can't acknowledge the mistake and get a correct seat to a different dealer. I will install it myself if need be. Just need a seat.

I ended up picking it up and driving it 1,100 miles home. Been driving it around CO all week fishing. The original receiving dealer is hopefully going to fill out a misbuild for the wrong rear seat so hopefully this gets resolved. Loving it other than I had to give up on wireless android auto due to constant dropouts. Also, the code provided on the card for the keypad does not work.

From your perspective it doesn't matter who's fault it is. Someone at Ford fixes it or walk and get another.

What does your card look like? 3 barcodes and strings of hexadecimal?
It's just a card in the glove compartment that says keypad code and lists a 5 digit code

Already bought it. I can't fathom an outcome where Ford doesn't fix it. It's not a subjective issue. You are staring at the wrong seat when you open the door. To be honest, it looks fine but it does not belong. It's just a matter of getting a dealer who did not sell me the car to take the time to work it out with Ford. Hopefully they come through.

If it looks something like this then it is the wrong card. This card only works with a hardwired keypad. EIther the wireless keypad card was lost. Or the dealer mistakenly tossed it. There is a way for the dealer to retrieve the actual code. Tell them SSM 52476

It does not look like that at all. It has three rows of bar codes and below that the keypad access code and below that a SN# and below that a barcode that says 902.75 MHz. I saw a video that shows using the two key fobs and placing them in the center console to get the keypad code flash on the instrument panel but it did not work. It wasn't specifically for the Ranger so whom knows

So it does have the hexadecimal strings with the three barcodes. Ask them to reprogram it, if that doesn't work get the dealer to look up SSM 52476.

If the code they retrieve doesn't work. Guess its warranty time for a replacement.

I've heard rumors that the key code is taped to the drivers side fuse box. maybe check there?
