I have them on my RR and the wife's Bronco Sport Badlands (essentially identical to a Mavrick under the hood) with Zero Issus's. Are you sure you had the correct set?
So, to answer your question, yes, I had the correct set. I know this because I gave them away to another Maverick owner and he had no issues. My first issue was that the brackets did not fit my Maverick. I contacted Redline and they said they saw this issue before and due to "production changes" some Maverick needed modified brackets. So my assumption was that it wasn't the hood struts but a slight modification by Ford that caused my issue. A few other people on the Maverick forum experienced what I experienced but they were a small minority. I just was curious if anything like that occurred with Rangers.

Mine fit and work great. Just put down a tarp so if you drop the hood mount it won't fall in the fender well.

I filled the area with shop rags, that made it easy to get the dropped hood mount or bolt out if I dropped it (which I did on the passenger side).

You bastards! Stop making me spend money.
Ahhh there is no greater pleasure I can think of then helping a fellow car/truck enthusiast spend their hard earned money. God knows these different forums I belong to have cost me more than I’ll ever admit.

We carry canoes on the roof. Nice to be able to open the hood partway and have it stay. Can't do that with the prop rod.
Had Redline on the Bronco Sport, then the Maverick, now the Ranger. No problems with any of them. Easy install and work great.

No issues. I love mine! I did drop a screw though. It somehow found its way around the shop rag too. But it worked out. No regrets!
