I've posted before that I find the Ranger XLT seats uncomfortable on long drives. What would it cost to have new seats installed? I don't need leather, but I'd want to keep the heated feature for the seats. I searched online and asked ChatGPT. Chat seems to think I can could get new seats for around $500 each. Is that realistic?

I'll probably start the process for some quotes soon, but figured I'd see what the forum community here thinks.

Little skeptical of finding direct bolt in replacement seats. Looked around and not seeing. Where there is a will there is a way but the way likely includes some expensive fabrication of seat mounts. A good upholstery shop might be an option. Re do of webbing and foam. Seems like the first thing I would try

I just put a cut chunk of high density foam, About 12" wide, 8" long, 4" high. Tapered the front most 4" at an up angleto 2". Worked wonders. something is definatly wrong with the rear 1/3 of the seat. No support or bad foam, or both.

I struggle with the seat as well. I have not found much for help online. Let me know what you find. I am currently sitting on a bath towel to try and fill in the large hole they left.

What did you use for foam? Im a little dude so that is part of the problem. I think if you were a little larger the seat would probably be ok as you would sit on the seat and not in it. It almost feels like they put a huge hole and forgot to fill it before completing the design. I have really struggled with this as I am in the truck for road trips often and it really gets my back messed up. I did look at the Tacoma and the seat was much worse so this is not just the Ranger. The GMC Canyon is pretty nice but not really the truck I want. I would get the F-150 but the truck is just so darn big.

Right, the foam fills the 'hole' that is a design flaw. it works. Got a piece of HD foam off Amazon. I'm 6' 210 or so. The hole is a major annoyance.

I will take a look and see what I can find. I have ordered multiple seat cushions and not had much success.

I love the seats in my 24 Ranger XLT. Drove a 2020 Ranger Lariat up to Ohio to my dealer to trade in and brought the 24 Ranger XLT back to Florida. My butt and back were killing me on the way up but not on the way back.

The problem with the rear part of the seat develops over a few months. It's fine when you first get it.

Seat preference and comfort differ from person to person. I’m glad they work for you. They are quite terrible for me.

Total agree. I wasn't trying to cause problems i just didn't understand what was wrong with the seats. Someone else said there was problems with the early built Ranger front seats, i don't know how early like i said i got my truck in September and it was sitting on the dealer lot so I don't know when it was built. I just know the foam on my seats is good.

I measured the XLT and Lariat seats ant the XLTs are over an inch narrower than the Lariat. In between the bolsters and outside. Its not just leather vs cloth.

Odd the seats are designed differently. I’m not exactly sure what bothers me but it’s possibly the most uncomfortable seat of any truck I have ever owned.
