How to display radio when Android Auto is active

When I'm using AA, I can switch between different streaming apps and whatever is playing will appear on a small screen next to the weather, however if I switch to satellite radio, the radio screen takes up the whole touch screen till I exit out and return to the AA screen, but no radio info displays, instead I still get the info for the last streaming app that I used showing paused. I tried to close out the AA streaming app but then I get nothing. Below is what I see when playing satellite radio, the last app was Apple Music and it still shows as paused while the satellite radio is playing. Any ideas?

I suppose I could just stream the satellite through AA but not as convenient for switching channels.

I don't believe this is possible. When you switch to the satellite radio, you are using the native Ford Sync software, which is separate from Android Auto. So while you can continue to listen to the radio while you are in AA, you cannot have both the Ford Sync (i.e. the radio) and AA on the screen at the same time.

Can't help you with your dilemma, and I have the same problem in my 23' f-350, but at least you're listening to some good tunes.

might have to use the actual cluster for the native radio/built in xm display. its the "now playing" menu option

Yeah but then you have to back out of it and then open AA again, can't be doing that all day.

That works, although I lose my gauges. Trying to figure out if there is a way to set it up so it shows my gauges but if I want to see what's playing I can just bump the toggle up or down instead of going back to the menu.

Maybe the MyView tab can pick to have the now playing and the gauges so its just a simple up or down on wheel controls? the other option is to get a OBD Link MX+ and the app is AA compatible. It will only display 4 options while driving, but how ever many you have set once in neutral, or park, but you can also set up multiple screens, I wish something could override the maps section when not in use. but it wont.

Good point, I don't think I tried arrowing up and down on the steering wheel except for when I was scrolling for setup options. That's probably it. My VW would work that way, I could just arrow up or down for different things but for some reason I was only thinking of using the toggle My brain is tired from driving all day.

I do have OBD Link MX+ but using Scangauge right now. I didn't know the OBD app would work on Android though, I wanted Torque Pro but need a 3rd party app to make it work with AA. (I use my MX adapters for Torque Pro)

Yeah I wanted torque pro, or forscan lite. so it was a plesent supprise for the link app to be AA compatible. in my old 12 escape I used torque pro as my extended dash. so I was disappointed I couldnt use torque, and forscan got removed cuz of the war sanctions... so when I was pressing app buttons to see what they were, and zi saw the obd link app. I was happy. but I perfered the customization of torque pro. I will be getting the adapter that lets me put my phone in dex mode, so Hopefully then I can use torque again. lol.

The one thing I miss about the android headunit, it was set up as stand alone, never had to use my phone to open the app or statt it from aa. as soon as my rig started, torque pro started automatically. lol

I've been annoyed by this as well. I think it is a design flaw.
