How to fix scratch/scrape on RR dashboard?

Hi guys - SO, I recently noticed a scrape on the hard plastic dashboard of my RR, above the gauge cluster. No idea how it got there and it's not super deep, but very annoying to look at every day. Pic below.

Any ideas for how I'd go about fixing something like this? Or at least minimizing the appearance as much as possible?

Heat gun. Carefully heat area and gently go over area to make the lifted plastic goes down. Don't stay in one spot with the heat. There is videos on YouTube. Since the scratch is not deep, a blow dryer or even steam could fix it quickly.

I had a similar scratch on an exterior textured panel.
The heat gun application will likely add some shine to the area.
After the heat gum application, I let the area cool down, sprayed the area with detail spray and then went over it with a magic eraser.
That dulled the shine and made the repair imperceptible.

The plastics in this truck are definitely soft and will scratch pretty easily, as I've found. My truck was actually delivered with a few small blemishes on the dash that I didn't notice at delivery. Doh!

Honestly, between the crazy glare and my OCD over the dash, I might look in to a dash cover. The Aussies have one that just covers the plastic portion of the dash and it looks pretty nice.

I'll throw this out there. 303 Aerospace Protectant does a heckova job masking the white plastic scratches and blemishes. Should last between regular washes but will need to be reapplied. It can also help prevent scratches, as it makes the surface slick to the touch.

Make sure to apply an even coat and gently wipe it down, as it can look "splotchy" if not done correctly.

Yes! I put on a dash cover and forgot it existed. lol

Seriously though Dash Designs Sedona Suede (black) looks great and cuts the dashboard glare completely. Makes the interior feel more comfortable too. Not for everyone though, I get it... but I've come around.

Haha well that's not the answer I was hoping for. Took delivery of my new ranger yesterday and noticed a scuff across 1/3 of the top of the dashboard. Looks like something was dragged across it. Documented it and emailed as soon as I got home as they were closed. Manager was out today so have to wait until Monday to see what they are going to do about it. Wish I had noticed it before I took off.

Wish I had noticed it before I took off.

Same deal with me. I don’t have faith a Ford tech doing "warranty work" can replace a whole dashboard without screwing something else up or damaging the replacement. BMW had to pull my dashboard for an M3 I owned and digned up a number of other interior panels in the process.

I've been using slate gray Sharpie fine points on all my "black" car interior plastic scratches. Black Sharpies don't work because the "black" interior is never truly black. There are other brands too that are permanent gray or grey ink pens like Bic and Art Alternatives. Just dab away the scratch. It works and it's better than adding a glossy shine product as a temporary coverup.

Heat guns are also good for removing indentations in leather or vinyl after a box or any other object was left too long on a seat or whatever surface. If you use a real heat gun just be sure to mask off other areas with towels that extreme heat may damage or leave a glaze mark.
