I finally got the great news this morning! The final production tracker update quickly turned into a phone call from the dealer telling me that my Ranger Raptor was delivered!

After months of waiting like a lot of you, I was pumped.
Then, the dealer said we have a small problem. He said there was a dent in the tailgate from shipping…

Ok, can’t be that serious, right? The body shop can take care of it? Oh, how wrong I was. I arrived to the dealership after work and discovered a dirty, rusty, bird pooped Ranger Raptor. Obviously It wasn’t cleaned yet since sitting in a lot since Feb, but seriously it was bad lol.
I could most definitely look past all of the dirt, but the rust was a little different.

Don’t get me wrong, the truck still looked great. BUT

This huge dent on the back ( see pics ) was clearly not a love tap. Also someone had tried to fix it as the screws on the inside of the bed were loose and there was tap marks. Carrier? Ford? Not sure, but it’s not good.

Along with the huge dent, there were multiple scratches and chips in the paint all over the vehicle, that I could see with all the dirt. I don’t want to know how many there actually are when it’s washed.

The interior was no better, it looked like I took 3 kids on a 3k mile roadtrip, but it only had 18 miles on it. So many scratches on the interior it was crazy.
Also the body panels are pretty off, but that can be fixed.

Really disappointed @Ford. This is not a brand new vehicle. I will attach pics of how the truck arrived. Let me know what you guys would do. I still love the truck, but I am bummed. 😥

I had a laundry list of QC concerns too including interior damage, body alignment, and rust though no notable body damage. It does have the worst orange peel of any car I've ever bought. Mine also showed up to the dealer with 18 miles. Production date of 2/27.

I would anticipate someone from Ford's social media reaching out when they see this. They helped me get a case open with Ford which has been working with the dealer to work through all the concerns. My truck is supposed to be ready by the end of this week at which time they will have had it for 17 days. I'll have to take it back to get the interior fixed as I was told the interior parts are not available. It's my only vehicle and Ford has given me a rental Edge from Hertz. Would have been nice to been provided with a rental that was more aligned with the vehicle I own though.

So sorry to hear about this. After all that wait. I pick up my RR on Wednesday. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I have a checklist for all the potential issues that I'll be looking for before accepting delivery.

Hopefully you get a discount for troubles. Other wise it will get scratched and dented eventually offroad.

Do I look like a fool
Shocking.
Really this is a dealer issue in my eyes , they should not have called you until it was at least prepped and cleaned as they should not let you see your major purchase like that as its not good for anyone.
Most new cars look pretty average when they are delivered on a car transporter regardless of make and a good dealer would not present it to the customer like that.
I suspect most of the internal marks will come off with a good detail but I would demand a new tailgate and not one filled with bog and painted .
If that is rust pictured on the left top corner of the tub i would be demanding a new tub as well .

No way in hell would I accept that truck, I don’t know what happened but that’s a shame. You deserve much better & Ford should build you another truck & personally deliver it to you as soon as possible. Mine was built 3/12 & delivered 4/19 by convoy to Ohio & didn’t have a blemish on it fortunately. I’m so sorry this has happened. Good luck to you, I wish you the best!!

I do not know its allot to fix and some of those interior pieces that you probably want replaced may result in rattles. A good dent doctor could fix the dent were you could not even know it was there, along as the paint clear coat is not cracked. Have them fix it then see how it looks and then decide if you can live with it. Make sure they use new clips on the replacement interior trim pieces helps avoid rattles. Also they need to really discount it big time.

Exactly, I know it’s going to get scratched, but it’s only new once and it doesn’t even look like it.
